  • With so many new subscribers lately, it's about time we had a "Channel Trailer" to summarize our backstory, the building of our Overland Truck, and our ongoing adventures!
    Follow the story from the beginning as we custom build our own aluminum exoskeleton, Honeycomb Composite overland rig, and then outfit it with a custom sliding solar array, lithium batteries, onboard LTE routers, and everything in between. Then check out our new videos where we sell everything we own and hit the road, from the Arctic Ocean, South through Canada, the USA, Mexico, and into Central America.

    NICE WORK!
    Excellent editing with combinations of point-of-angles to maintain energy!
    With the video length at the lower screen, you make it easy to 'check it out'!
    I am impressed!

    Hey Everlanders! Your truck is cool. I love these montage videos. Can you do a off road montage video or maybe a review of your rig? For those of us who are fascinated by your build and are inspired to build their own, but can't come for a ride? How does it ride? What's your mileage? Does it shake creak or rattle being an older rig? Is there crazy wind noise being so angular? How does the 7.3 move that mass? How heavy is it and how does the chassis handle it? Is it tippy or does it corner flat? How does it handle off road? How fast can it go? Ya know. Things like that. We would like to know how it all turned out. Sorry, turned oot. I'm bad with my Canadian.

    Hey seeing as you like to customize everything and are very mechanically inclided. You should look into retrofitting a York 210 ac compressor into a air compressor. They just mount as an accessory to your belt drive on motor and can produce up to 10-12 cfm at 90 psi. Way more air than any 12v compressor you can run all you pneumatic air tools and airing up your huge tires would be way faster. Anyways you should definitely look into even if you're not interested in it for your application ita still very cool , lots of videos on youtube of it. Anyways love your videos and rig man keep up the great content.

    Pretty amazing talents. I can weld and have a good imagination. I have built my own gym equipment in the past. I’m sure I could do the design prefab and weld part of one of these. When it comes to the electrical and wireless hookups. Well that just makes my brain hurt thinking about it. Lol. I end up with all manual switches. The relays lol. I would even know what to do with a relay let alone make one. I can tell you are a very meticulous person.

      Thank you guys for being you and making your vids. I’m a Californian and work for the state. I hate what is going on in the country and considering an early retirement. I could easily buy a Cheeper home in another state.I’m considering life on the road and your program is in insightful. The one things I would miss in the road would be blazing internet speeds for gaming.

    First of all I want to say I've been a big fan of the channel since when you guys started it. I used to live In Regina and it was great to see a picker truck similar to one I used to run for a company out in White City being converted into an overlander!
    I'm hoping for some advice for insulation. I bought a 1979 Dodge Trans Van with the 360 and am gutting it. It is a Class B Dodge Van with a 1 ton dually frame. The walls behind the cab are aluminum and the roof is a fibreglass cap, as well as the back is a fibreglass cap (odd design I know). I'm converting it in the lower mainland of BC over the "winter" here, which basically means it rains everyday. My big concern is moisture right now and eventually freezing temps as the girlfriend and I have plans to live in it in the Yukon, as well as take it to Mexico eventually. I have an Espar knockoff heater and a Maxxair fan, and will likely invest in a dehumidifier. Do you figure standard pink foam board insulation from Home Depot would do the trick? It's hard to find good info on the internet of insulation solutions for people not just living in Southern California it seems. My big concern it is condensation forming between the aluminum walls, insulation and interior walls.
    Hope you're doing well in Mexico. I was just in northern Alberta working in -26 and it still isn't fun.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  3 роки тому

      You certainly can use foam board, but like you already mentioned you need to be aware of condensation on your outer skin... Check out the insulation videos by SV seeker, he used two layers of pink foam board and expanding foam insulation to ensure that no humidity gets in behind the foam board on the skin of his boat.

      If the budget allows, you could also look into having it spray foamed, you probably want two or three inches if you're going to be living in it in the Yukon.
