This feels a lot like you've been hired to design, build and test a system for an overland rig builder. I've been jealous of your skillz for a while, but this is next level.
You beat me to it. Jezzzzzus... Next week, I'm looking forward to your video on Neurosurgery. A skill I'm sure you have but haven't wanted to share with us yet. :)
I know that I'm not amazing at coming up with names, but there is no way I could possibly come up with a better name than "Octo Sphincter 8000". Pure genius.
I don't think it's just Blynk that are going to be taking your hard work and design and monetizing it for themselves. You've built a lot of people's dream rig. Always impressed by the level of detail in the work and design. Keep on keepin on.
Your IQ has to be off the charts! I've never seen anyone with your level of design, engineering, fabrication, applied computer skills, presentation, editing, humor, and cross-industry knowledge.
This is amazing and inspiring. It’s getting my 10 year old daughter (and my younger self) inspired to get to building out our overland rig. Thank you so much for sharing all this! It lets me live vicarious while putting my own plans together and gives me ideas about how we approach our build
Glad that you are able to make all these adjustments to make the truck ride better. Even a tiny improvement is a BIG improvement because you live in the truck and use it everyday. It's a worthwhile investment of time, money and effort.
Your ability to research and invent complex stuff is blowing my mind every time I come across one of your videos. 🤯 We need a video on your strategies, what do you use for research and what to do to be like you! Please make one!
Dude this was awesome I've been trying to come up with a way of doing something similar on a rig that I mentally piecing together and how it will function but I have to say the wiring ehhhh I don't know it was okay😂😂😂 But for real I wish there were 10 of you on UA-cam I love your stuff
Hi, Andrew from Brisbane Australia - I think what you have made/built is awesome - Please accept my congratulations of such a well thought-out product/idea! You deserve any praise you receive!
This is awesome, educational, and entertaining! Side note, my girlfriend coined the term “Comfort Engineer” for doing these kinds of upgrades to our camper van 😂
Excellent video. Great execution. A few things that I didn’t hear you touch on and I hope you considered is max and min allowable pressure on the airbags. Some airbags don’t like to be bottomed out and some don’t like to be overinflated as they will pop out of their housings. In the same note it’s critical axle limit straps or shocks limit the axle travel as extreme travel can also pop out an airbag from its seat. Just my 0.02 pesos on an otherwise 5 star video.
Instead of Power Factor Correction we now have Pucker Factor Correction. 🙂 Your production levels continue to improve, professional quality. Thank you for putting that together. (Just upgraded my membership.) This video scratched several itches for me: automotive design and fabrication, clever coding, wonderful examples of practical application, and just-for-the-fun-of-it uses.
Great video! Always love seeing your approach to problem solving, how you accomplish it in the most budget-friendly way possible, and with wiring that looks👌. Very inspiring.
Such an simple explanation of a highly engineered setup, as someone in the comments rightly said, this gentleman deserves to be at Engineering school of Havard or Oxford teaching Automobile Grads!
Wow Jason, incredible video. Love the Octo-Sphincter 8000 name, hooked to the TODD boards. HaHa. I actually use those same accelerometers (rs485 version) in my wind turbine project. They are incredible. I really enjoyed spending time with you when you were back here. Keep up the good work. Your hat microphone works awesome too. Have fun, love ya.
If the world aligned with quality of information and the quality of presentation, that found here, we'd be living in a world where potential met actualization
Fantastic self leveling design, good job. My one caution having worked in building rear air ride assisted systems for Super Duty trucks used in a military application is the side frame air bag mount caused cracks in the frame. The frame is weakest in the location the air bag mount is attached to....the side twisting caused cracks and frame failures. The solution was to build a bracket system subframe connecting the two frame rails to to limit torsional frame twisting and cracks. Check for cracks every week or so....hopefully none will appear.
@everlanders I would recommend what the internet calls “Ping” tanks. It’s an air tank in line with the airbag that absorbs the spikes in pressure on bumps and articulations. Just an accumulator for your suspension. Lowers the pressure spikes making the ride nicer!
Amazing video again. I started with Blynk after watching your videos back in the day. But I switched over to Home Assistant. You can run it completely locally with endless possibilities. A great community also creating content. Updates with improvement every month. Currently I have Home assistant set up at home. But have it also planned for the RV. Mr. Wizard over the top again. Not that everyone wants or needs all of the tech it makes one think about making their home on wheels more comfortable or safer and for that I thank you.

Home assistant would be the current opensource project to support as you move on from that nightmare of a company. I have been running it for over a year now as a test for my stepvan build where it will be a core component.
I missed your channel. Glad you posted. I was trying to remember who the overlander was that had those interesting videos Thank you for your channel. I have always enjoyed the content you produce. No matter if its an overlanding video or a technicial video everything is really well done.
