Max is a Kansas City native like me. Max Berry who played guitar with him is the uncle of a friend of mine who was/is a drummer, Lonnie Wilson. I haven't seen or talked to Lonnie, though, in decades. I saw Max Groove once at a place called The Epicurean Club, which is no longer. I have the CD of this album and some other Max Groove albums that I can't think of the names of at the moment. Ok, I just looked. I have City People, Center of Gravity, Midnight Rain, Maximum Groove, and It's a Beautiful Day.
Max Groove is from my hometown of Kansas City. I always thought he should be way more popular than he is in other parts of the country and the world for that matter. I haven’t seen or heard anything about him in quite some time. If anyone has information concerning Max Groove, I would love to hear from you. Thank you in advance and check out the rest of his catalog!❤️
Even though I am familiar with all of Max Groove’s catalog, I never put two and two together! Every time I would hear the song on the Weather Channel I would think to myself, “Man, that song sounds sooo familiar!” never realizing that it was upstairs in my CD collection!😂

Beautiful, serene grooves indeed! Reminds you of a relaxing drive to your favorite getaway! Thank you very much, Kyle...Another winner from you, as is customary.😊This is definitely a keeper! Blessings to you and all!
I never got to meet Max Groove or even see him play live but I have been a fan for many years! I would love to Max Groove and Pat Metheny on the same bill at aKansas City Jazz Festival. I would also put Pat’s brother Mike Metheny on that bill as he is an awesome flugelhornest. Dreams of home and Jazz!
‘Midnight’ and ‘rain’ together always seems to denote something really pleasant, n’est-ce pas? Thank you again, Kyle, so very much! Edit: ‘Stasia’ and ‘Siaru’ are exceptional pieces.
I met Max about 30yrs playing in a club near KC. He was dominating, he was Max, and HE GROOVED! I walked out the place totally impressed with the man’s style. I got an autographed copy of Center of Gravity and I still love listening to it going to HMB, now I have to get this one. It reminds of grooving in HMB rain or shine! Keep on Grooving Max
I remember when Fiesta Sol was on The Weather Channel local forecast segments. Only heard it a few times over the years.

This is unequivocally the definitive classic.

The opening sounds a lot like the song from Leisure Suite Larry VGA 1 in the taxi
The first two songs “Midnight Rain” and “Fiesta Sol” were use mainly on TWC Local Forecasts in the late 80s and early 90s..
Love it!! I can't get over how many amazing albums you share!! THANK YOU!!!

Love this jazz music it so relaxing. 🏝️🥃
Essence is fantastic. Bassline with the flanged delay is perfect.
Feels like looking over snow capped mountains on a sunny morning.

Super underrated album! I'm glad the whole thing is finally on UA-cam.
Wow! A long forgotten track from Max! Fiesta Sol! 🎶🎶
I am a Korean. I bought this album in early 90s in Korea ❤
Emmett Lee and Greg Allen are excellent on this, and give me a sax like this any time. More - pleeeeease!
I bought this album after hearing "Stasia" on the radio. Brings back memories.
I ❤ that song
