Lost my Dad two years ago. He was a Manatee County, FL mullet fisherman. He waded for them mostly. Moved to NC in the 80’s but we took trips back every winter and loaded a deep freezer with smoking mullet. Grew up on em. Enjoyed watching you slay em!
Here in Florida you need a Saltwater Product License as well as a Restricted Species endorsement to catch over 50 mullet and sell to a seafood wholesalers. You also need a Wholesale/Resale License to sell directly to consumers.
Depends on time of year and depth I’m throwing in. Summer on the flats I use 11’ 12lb which I can also throw good wading. Winter during the mullet run I use 12’ 20lb and 12’ 30lb.
