If you go to a concert in Japan, It would be like this. People listen to the music, the artist and leave ovation for when the performance is over because they believe making noise when the artist is performing is disrespectful towards the artist.
There is a mix of people. The concert is available for anyone to attend. The ticket price is the same as for a regular concert with any touring artist. However people dress up for this as it's a special event, where the artists and the people that are there is honoring the receipent of the price. Members of the Royal family is also present as is the primeminister and other members of the government. It is not a regular concert.
if there's an orchestra I agree that you shouldn't be making noise in the middle of the song. it's extremely disrespectful and personally annoying. I love that the audience respected that ;)
sometimes it is necessary to have an active audience. Many artists cheer up their performance because of their audience. There are times in which if the audience seems underexcited, then the artist will just be unmotivated. I think you can see that if you watch full performances of bands, the least popular songs are usually the ones with the least action and passion. Regardless, this ocasion wasn't inappropriate obviously because there is an orchestra. This whole comment was referring to regular performances.

I love that she did this for the Noble Peace Prize. The song be interpretted that despite the man's background and struggles, he still finds a way to create something good (blue). It can also be that she's describing the lives of the people that need help. There lives are blue.
