This is a lot more helpful than what I learned in my in-person beginner classes, which was basic steps, one turn, and then lengthy patterns. I like the patterns, but the insight of identifying the individual components and using them throughout the dance like you’ve shown here did not come naturally for me. Also love the advice about using crossbody leads to make the dance more dynamic and buy time.
A+ video from a beginner who's been out social dancing and gets so intimidated by how good people are. I always tend to go back to basic and get frozen there
Very good video. These sorts of videos are EXTREMELY helpful, as it is my goal to learn 'how to dance' which is the thinking behind doing all the moves together. Thank you
As a male beginner of nearly 200 cm, I think I'll try to avoid overhead turns on my side in social dancing, since they feel like an absolute pain in the ass.
