Awesome thank you! My Impala 09 was giving a service traction control and an engine power is reduced messages. It happened once before about 4 years ago and as of last week started it again. Same exact dummy lights same sluggish and somewhat hard shifting. I left work today picked up the part and had it in all in less than an hour. Car is snappy and responsive with no traction control light or message. I cycled the key a couple times due to running around to a couple stops and the CEL is now off. The first replacement I paid someone to do but thanks to this video I had the knowledge and confidence to take it myself. Thank you guys! I really appreciate the help!
About to do this on my ‘11 Impala. Gave my daughter the “service traction control” and “service stabilitrak” warnings. Took to to a place to read the codes, and they came up with replacing the accelerator position sensor. Thanks for the walkthrough on this!
What would be the symptoms of the accelerator pedal needing to be replaced. I have a 2012 chevy impala and when I am stopped and go to accelerate I heard a sound like something catching in the accelerator and then the car accelerates. It does not happen consistently and no lights indicate the problem exists. What could it be???
they have no clue. they are just parts changers.. they never diagnose anything. mine has no lights either but it does not wanna go up slight inclines. sometimes
I had the same issues awhile back.. I took off the throttle body, mass air flow sensor and cleaned them with the proper cleaner ( I think it’s CRS the brand) and put some fuel injector cleaner and it runs like new🙏🏼
I changed the part and the code cleared itself but now if i crank and goto drive it tells me that the engine power is reduced and to service traction control, i dont know if i did something wrong or what
Greetings everyone! I am here educating myself in what’s happening to my Impala of 2008 and the code P2135! I just changed the throttle in the beginning of this month and today this code showed up again. A Mechanic I know, saw it and erased it, and advised me to keep an eye for now. If it happens again, I will take it to the Mechanic who put the new throttle and everything else. I am hoping that I am not pressing the pedal in the wrong way but, I have been driving for decades and never had an issue with any vehicle except now. Is this a common thing with Chevys?
Great video! I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu LT 2.4 L and I have the Codes P0122, P0123, P0223. It’s says pedal position sensor for the codes. Can a pedal position sensor stop your car from turning on???
im assuming it can, today is 4-26-21 im not sure if you've figured it out by now considering how late this response is. but yes my car just stalled out and wouldn't start for a min, luckily i have a obd2 reader and the code is p2122 im ordering my part today
Help please can someone explain to me what he meant about clearing the codes, drive cycle for 45 minutes, and emission? I have the same vehicle but its a 2011 LS Fleet.
Slightly better access, and (more importantly for us) so you can see what we're doing. It isn't strictly necessary, but it only takes an extra second to do.
Okay so we did this repair on my husbands 2012 impala 8 months ago. Afterwards, though, it was hard to press the pedal. There’s so much resistance that it makes it hard to accelerate smoothly if you’re not used to the vehicle. We chalked it up to just being a brand new pedal, but it’s not gotten any better. It makes me hate driving the car. But my husband has recently decided he much prefers our brand new SUV so I’m stuck driving it more and more. And I’m ready to fix it. It was such a smooth, easy to press acceleration before. Is there a way to increase the sensitivity?
There wouldn't be an electronic way of doing it, there could be some internal adjustment but it might not be advisable to go opening up the case - the last thing you want is a stuck throttle.
I have an 2008 Chevy Impala LT and while driving the service stabilitrak message comes on and then that gets followed up with a reduced engine power message, it has happened before, I took it in and they said it was fine. When it happened again I was driving on the street and it happened. It went away after a day but today while on the highway it happened again? Any ideas as to what or why?
@LemurMonitors I actually had this issue recently and found this video while trying to figure out what was wrong. Glad I looked at the comments, that's the exact error I have!
Thank great info but my car want go pass 25 mph when it get there it starts to slow down 07 impala I changed spark plugs and coil pack and camshaft swnaor so today I'm do throttle body do u have any suggestions
Question... I have code P2127 which TPS “E”. Is it the same thing ? Also, to reset the code, all I have to do is drive the vehicle for 45 minutes? No special service is needed? Great video!
I have this exact make and model of car. My service traction control keeps coming on and lighting up the check engine light. I have already replaced the throttle body. Could this help with that?
If it's coming out of the same vehicle and works well it shouldn't be a problem, it's just a straight hardware swap so no need to register the new one or anything along those lines.

My 06 ls does not say stabilizer says engine reduce speed check engine light comes on does say service traction control and at times it will say service throttle and stall then says service disabled and won't start but jump it our give it time and it will start tested the battery it's good
I need help guys! Please! I get codes P2122 and P1238. Should I replace the throttle body or the accelerator position sensor? Or both? Thanks in Advance guys
I know your question is two years old but If those codes are related to the service traction control service stabilatrak and reduced engine power I replaced the throttle body and it didn't take care of it so I'm about to change the pedal too
advance auto can order just the sensor. its about 100 bucks. the ac delco complete throttle body is 249.99 the Hitachi is cheaper and the BWD is a little cheaper. but overall not much
$100 for this damn pedal I swear I've replaced 10-15 sensors or parts on this car in the last 6 months. It's a 2010 Impala so it's been driving with no issues for 5+ years but nw it seems to be falling apart!!
mine's 2007 so it's slightly older but yeah man did y'all's windows all quit working n fall down one after another too?? 😂😂 bc that happened to me and now this

Easy one to do! (not so easy to shoot though, my back still hurts)
@@LemurMonitors yea,i feel your pain on that one.

This worked great. No more warning lights.
This channel has saved me so much in mechanic costs
You guys made a great video, please don’t stop, super helpful and easy to learn from
Thanks!
Thanks! Wife’s car just threw those codes. Went to the parts store and made the quick fix. One short trip 3 starts and codes were gone. 2:39
No need to drop the lower trim. Plenty of wire harness to lower the pedal assembly.

Good idea to coat the connector with dielectric grease.
What’s a drive cycle ? Just taking the car for a spin ?
I changed the part and the code cleared itself but now if i crank and goto drive it tells me that the engine power is reduced and to service traction control, i dont know if i did something wrong or what
Same thing here. Any updates ? Did you figure out?
Does it matter what pedal to buy ? What would you recommend on buying ?
Will this last for a week until a person get paid?

Is there anything we have to do after replacing the pedal? Do we have to reset anything. Or will it be ready to drive as soon as the part is replaced?
Go ahead and replace the brake pedal as well. It's good mechanical practice to do the same for each side of the vehicle.

@@Greasemonkeygarage651 im fairly certain my issue was the torque converter or transmission
Should you disconnect the battery before installing the pedal?

Idk either and am also trying to figure that out

Why remove the panel? I did this yesterday in about 3 minutes, 2 bolts, plug in new one.

It could actually be a faulty accelerator pedal - if you can get a scan and read a P2138 this could confirm it.

What's the fix on 2012 and up as the 3.6 was used in the impala.???
Anyone knows how is that light gray plastic direction protector is called? I need to replace it and can’t find it
What's the part number? The one I found locally, have to cutout in order to install it. Thanks

Yep! P2127 specifically refers to pedal position sensor #2
@BlueDriver It took me less than 10 minutes to do and the check engine light turned off immediately. You saved me $100. Thanks for your video.
@@LemurMonitors What is sensor #2 specifically. I can't figure out if that's a subcomponent of the entire pedal assembly that I can buy cheaper.

There shouldn't be anything special to do so any scan tool (hint hint: BlueDriver) will do it

why would you want to change the whole assembly when the sensor is on the side? and they sell just the sensor or the whole pedal assembly!
