LEARNING TRICKS From Ski Patrol And Getting Stuck

- With Cashy’s increased confidence she has been wanting to try more and more stuff on the mountain. On this particular day we were able to take a run with our good friend and “Mountain Doctor” as Cash calls him, Taylor.
Watching her joy and thirst for learning any and everything snowboarding is so cool. Not only does it reassure us that she truly loves this but it shows us just how fierce this little one is. Not only did she learn a fun new skill, that I am sure we will be practicing on every run now. But she also learned a valuable lesson of getting herself out of a not so fun situation. Getting stuck is an oh so common thing when you are venturing into the fluff or exploring. Making sure you trust in your abilities to get you unstuck is the most valuable lesson we can teach.
The best part is that she did it. She got herself unstuck all on her own and then went back into the fluff to make a turn. That right there shows her fight as well as resilience to continue to push for the things she wants. Once she was out of that she was back to speed, jumps and having fun.
Some people get upset that we laugh in the tough situations but here are our 2¢ on that
1. We have so been there. More times than we can count
2. Laughter helps you release stress which can help you calm down and work through it.

I love how her parents don’t “rescue her”. They make her problem solve and figure it out for herself giving her the confidence to know she can do it.

When I hear manners, it makes me smile. And Cash's determination is astounding, for a child so small. Excellent parenting.
Her "Thank you"s alone are golden. Always so respectful, whether it is with her parents or with a stranger just passing by saying "Hello".
Plenty of determination from this little Star! Her ability to take direction and then follow through is amazing to watch. Those 'hard effort' grunts were priceless!! Go Cashy!!

Absolutely love watching this little girl. She is so determined to do her best. Love the fact that her parents do not run to the rescue every time she falls or messes up. Instead they talk her through it, laugh with her and encourage her to go on. Cashy you are an inspiration. Keep up the good work.
Very wise parents on full display and a child who is flourishing because they are taking the time to help her help herself!! Brilliant.

Cash is amazing. And so determined. I LOVE her commentary. That lil smack talk after Dad chose which way to go had me dead. Love that Ski Patrol, I’m sure they love when you guys are out.
Way to go dad! Don't solve the problem for her. Encourage her to get herself out of the mess in a way that suggests that is to be expected. That's teaching independence and building confidence. Lessons that will live long beyond getting out of those bushes,
I LOVE all the life skills Cashy is learning! Never give up, laugh it off, try hard things, be outdoors, have fun, and so many more! ❤

It boggles my mind as well. I stick to cross country flat prairie lands. This little girl is an amazing example of nurture vs nature and the intestinal fortitude of her parents not to mention an inspiration to my 9 year old.

Same here. I couldn't even handle riding the ski lift. Maybe if I had started skiing at Casy's age when I had no fear than maybe it would haven't been so scary. Might have missed my calling ;)
@@tonikimpel7891 I've pondered that thought for nearly 20 years about sky diving, or parachuting. As a committed air cadet. Ski lift? Tried it once. 19 years old. Watched a friend crash on the hill and break her femur.
I'm heading for my Labrador retriever and my canoe and stay close to the earth. That lil girl is gonna be a star someday. Great comment and have a fantastic day.
In my younger life I wanted to sky dive at 18. Never did it. At age 35 sky diving seamed so scary. Now I am 58 and scared of everything. Should have gone sky diving at 18 like I wanted too, gone skiing and everything else. You have a great day yourself Dan.
Such fantastic supportive parents who allow her to figure it out while encouraging. Wish all little girls had that. And she os so talented, graceful and determined.

The bushes and Cashy had my hands covering my mouth in anticipation as I sat on the edge of my seat watching and listening to her and her dads interaction watching her get out of her dilemma.

She's so funny she just makes me laugh. I have to live vicariously through all of you since I don't see them letting me go on a sled or a tube down the Mountainside with my service dog in my lap. Although I do know she would enjoy that she would probably be off my life and wanting to roll around in the snow.
She is going to need a tracking device so you can find her as she is flying down the mountain.
