MY RESPONSE TO U IS.........NOT a brilliant actor.......a SUB PAR ACTOR AT BEST..........NOT A BRILLANT COMEDIAN......sub par comedian at best......YES brilliant pianist.......but then we ALL DO one brilliant thing in life......so no biggie about his talent on the piano............ALSO......HERE IS WHAT I POSTED ON HIM IN REGARD TO OTHER SUBJECTS ON HIM......IM A BROADCASTER AND AN ACTOR.(there's many incredibly STRANGE things about this man and his life).first....the MOVIE love sick was HORRIBLE.he must have been INSANE when he agreed to do it.OR he hated himself and that justified him doing it.OR he had physical abuse charges pending on him FROM HIS 4 X WIVES.so he did a plea bargain. To get out of those marriages HE thus was FORCED To do love sick.(secondly.Arthur the movie was BRUTALLY LAME at best-a bad movie overall.MEDIOCRE at best acting.HORRIBLE cliche script and TERRIBLE music by the AWFUL SONG VOCALIST Chris cross.(and I saw a documentary on him ADMITTING to the interviewer HOW HE WAS GOING TO PERISH/DIE.(none of it made sense).SO MY POINT HERE IS...........YES A TALENTED MAN/PIANIST..........but yet.......A FREAKY FREAKY FREAKY personal and business life........your replies are welcomed.
@Video Detective This is actually an excerpt from the movie, not the trailer, but thanks very much anyway. First scene here is in "The Saloon," a restaurant/bar on Broadway and 62nd or so across from Lincoln Center in Manhattan. I happened to eat there twice in 1983, the same year the movie was made! Too bad it closed around 2000. It's great that they filmed it in the actual restaurant, unlike many films nowadays which resort to tech instead. Marshall Brickman deserves a lot of credit for the wonderful evocative atmosphere of NYC he helped create with Woody in "Manhattan" and in this film by himself. I wish he had made more movies!

YOU are VERY CLEARLY a perfectly NORMAL HUMAN BEING. So we should LISTEN TO YOU and take your opinions VERY SERIOUSLY. Also, a movie with Elizabeth McGovern in it makes anything in your whole litany of bad a price worth paying, just to get to see a little bit more of her even though Dudley was hardly good casting as a person who would be loved by any character she would ever play.
Elizabeth McGovern was stunning back then.
My lovely Dudley, he was a true musical prodigy, a unique gem, a diamond
I miss him
R.I.P. DUDLEY MOORE, Brilliant musician AND comedian
