Good review. Thanks. I was afraid Night Sky would fly under the radar because it was so slow and not heavy on the sci fi for many eps. I think the story could have been told in half the time but I'm rooting for a season 2 which has been set up to be even more exciting.
I loved this series! It had slow pacing, but I was compelled to keep watching! It kind of reminded me of Game of Thrones where you had different characters with different storylines that converged together at the end. I think it will be more grounded in Season Two. They just needed to lay the groundwork in this season. Great review!
Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons are completely believable in these roles and all of the acting by other players is first rate. Irene seems more open hearted than Franklin, who comes off as a crusty old man. But, Franklin has better relationships than Irene with their son and granddaughter. Irene is quite manipulative and used to getting her way, but she is working through a lot of guilt. Franklin sees the portal like a distracting amusement; Irene sees it as a purpose, to keep from falling into despair. I liked all the episodes except the last, E8, because it seem a little disjointed and rushed.
I wasn’t expecting a sci-fi drama ❤. It’s quite refreshing and I hope they do a 2nd season. I really resonated with Denise when it came to school and work, so I quit my job December 2022 to pursue my art career and just live my life how I want to. So I appreciated her taking that leap of faith. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Spacek and Simmons, they really made me wish I had grandparents like that. I was extremely upset with Stella the whole time 😂.
A sci fi drama with grandma n grandpa! Such a novel idea. I enjoyed it and it was exactly what I thought it would be. Some performances were a lil weak but sissy and jk carried this show!
Great review. So happy to see I’m not the only one who feels this way about the Night Sky series. Very enjoyable. Do you all think Jude and the others know about the city??? And where is Bryon? He was annoying, yet now I miss him lol 😂
I've been binge watching, but mostly by using the fast forward key, which by the way is the best way to move the story along (unless you want to fall to sleep) It's got this Lost revised in space plot. Not sure if I will finish watching if season 2 is guaranteed.
Brruhhh I'm ctfu I was scrolling by fast & thought this was Dwight Howard! 🤣 I thought this series was too slow paced. Kinda mad they had a whole teleporter for decades & never even attempted to explore. Next season should be interesting

I call this series STRANGER THINGS with old people instead of kids! …
So many shows copy Lost It's nuts, and if the reviews say this one did, I'm out
😅

How can we make Amazon to bring in Season 2??!?!?! 🙄🙄
Irene went to that room by herself to commit possible suicide by walking through the door to the outside. She wrote that letter as a goodby.

Agree It's very slow paced. I am using my fast forward button a lot.
Waiting on season 2
I think this got cancelled smh
Something I kept wondering... what happened to Denise's mother? Did they explain that and I just missed it?
I dont think they explained. I wondered too.
During Irene’s doctors appointment Franklin and Denise were eating cake and she briefly spoke about her mom.
They never mentioned her whereabouts. Maybe to keep option open for season 2???
good show
I slept so nicely while watching this series, Truly enjoyed my sleep!
I've never used my fast forward button so much. I'm on episode 3 I think, and I'm ready to quit
It's a drawn out, tedious, soap opera that's about as much scifi as Dark Shadows was about vampires.
