Also, not accurate. If you're going to correct something, at least provide the correct info. Need to pay attention to the difference between quarts and liters. This is straight from the 2023 Rally owner's manual, page 133: Sometimes things can unknowingly vary between different model years and similar models, so it's up to the individual to double check the manual for their specific bike. Engine oil capacity -- After draining: 1.43 US qt (1.35 L) -- After draining & filter change: 1.53 US qt (1.45 L) -- After disassembly: 1.85 US qt (1.75 L).
Thanks for the tip! I like to change it every 5.000km or latest every 12 months. If you store your motorcycle for winter, then I would recommend to do it before you store it. With that said, the "official" maintenance schedule asks for a change every 12.000km but that's a too much in my opinion. Long story short, I work with engines and one of the best things you can do to keep your engine running troublefree for many years is to change the oil and oil filter. It's not that expensive and it's an easy job to do at home. cheers
Good idea about blocks under the stand. I changed my plastic for aluminium .But your idea still helps to keep mess out.I put a magnet plug in, too. Great warning about bolts i been doing 10 nm
Also, i put the jet red handguards after watching an earlier video on barkbusters. They make the bike much more visible for oncoming traffic. Especially the handlebar width.
Hi Mike, Here is the video for the CRF300L including the dimensions of the crush washer. CRF300L OIL CHANGE - Step by Step How To ua-cam.com/video/V0gHmdqmtAA/v-deo.html
Funny, I just changed my oil a few days ago. And, like you said, be careful when tightening the filter cover bolts. Side Note: It's beautiful where you live.....
Nice one! Simple job and definitely a good idea to do by yourself! Thanks! By the way. That's my friend's house. He owns the CRF300 Rally and indeed lives in a beautiful place surrounded by mountains.
Thank you very much, very well and clearly explained! But this work on a meadow? If something goes wrong, the oil ends up in the ground, which is particularly harmful! THE USED OIL MUST BE DISPOSED OF CORRECTLY! After changing the oil, I leave a paper towel under the engine overnight, so small leaks can be easily detected.
Glad the video has been useful! You’re totally right about correct disposal of the old oil. I didn’t cover that in the video but hopefully it’s taken for granted that the oil can’t be discharged on the ground.
Proper amount of oil for change with filter is 1.55l, and 1.45l without filter change. 1.8l is total capasity of oil system.
Thanks.
Ya, I also caught that. 1.8 L too much for an oil-filter change.
The oil capacities are clearly in the manual
You’re right!
I’ll pin a comment to the video about the 1,8 and 1,55ml so there is no confusion.
Thanks for sharing that!

@@Tony-zp8xn the eu user manual contains the values as given above
Oil change training for dummies, I also understood. Well explained… Thanks
THANKS for Video 🤩 After how many km should you change the oil?
Thanks for the tip!

Best explanation ever. Thanks!
Need help on resetting trip meter for oil change
Another great vid Roia! Thanks!

I like the suggestion about the magnet plug! Will definitely consider doing that on mine

They do compliment the bike very nicely. I think it looks even better than stock.
Do you have a video for the 300L as well?

In combustion engines where the timing system is operated by a chain, the oil level should be set to MAX. or under MAX.
Agreed. Always stay between the max and under the max line. Just don’t go above or below the minimum line.
Useful as always!
Thank you!!

✌️✌️ thanks Boris!
Will car oil harm the engine?
Must be motorcycle oil.
The motorcycle engine oil is the same making contact with the clutch pack disc.
Are you changing to the Rally? Useful videos as always
I'm sticking the CRF300L.
The Rally is from a friend of mine ;). I'm getting his motorcycle ready for our next trip in 3 days :).
@@RoiaMoto If you're willing, it would be nice to see your trip on UA-cam.
Hi Russell
I’ll try to record the trip. Let’s see how it goes. I’m still not good at making travel videos but will give it a try
