It's nice to win. And it's nice that they throttle low level opponents. I'm still waiting for the first win against a high level opponent. I know their undertalented, and maybe they just don't have that in them this year. But to me, that's the next milestone. Breaking the losing streak was important, but I'm waiting on quality wins over tough opponents.
PFF algorithm has seemed especially broken this season. They just dont pass the eye test. Im a statistician so love me some fancy stats but if your metrics dont have external validity - they cant be that useful.
I agree. I think Craig said it right that PFF is 'the best we have'. That doesn't mean it's good. They OFTEN have some wacky grades. Some of it is that I think they don't weight impact plays highly enough to overcome someone who's just consistently doing their job, but not really being impactful. Like if you're an end that consistently is in the right gap and minimally does his job, you seem to get a better PFF grade than the gap-shooter who WRECKED the offensive game plan, but also sometimes overshoots and misses.
