There's a lot of reasons why Trump's reviews are accurate. The most obvious is this very video - he reviews his own reviews, allowing him to see where he was wrong and how he can improve at rating cards. On top of that, he theorycrafts the meta, not just how independently good a card is, and from that, is able to get a better feel for if a card will make the cut, or will be found lacking. And he's used this rating system for 3 years, so he knows his pitfalls and the things to look/watch out for. He's usually reasonably right as to which decks will be viable, though his judgement for Tier 2/Tier 3 could use work, and he can underestimate how much a card is experimented with. That's not to say he can't make mistakes - after all, he slept on Galakrond Rogue, Phase Stalker, and overhyped Chaos Gazer - but he's come a very long way from Lakkari Sacrifice 5 Stars.
Catherine Whittaker agreed. I remember that rogues OP weapon, which you could build up all throughout the game, and how he rated it 1 star. And the infamous patches the pirate, which he rated 1 star as well, if I recall correctly. The old days
@@artemchernev5199 Wasn't the Kingsbane deck actually fairly weak, though? Yeah he rated it 1 star but I don't believe it was every more than a t4/t5 deck the entire expansion. It was certainly a super annoying deck, but I rarely saw it win any matches.
I feel like this is definitely the best review session that Trump had. He very accurately predicted the meta compared to his previous reviews and his only major failings were priest, mage, and paladin.
If you head back and look at Trump's older reviews, he's improved massively at rating cards since then. His review has gone from a meme to being one of, if not the most accurate prediction by any Hearthstone content creator.

It seems like a meme in most decks, but it's stats are so high it could make it into some control decks as replacement for Mountain Giant and early game win condition. You play it on turn 4 and your oppponent is probably not going to play more into potential boardclear, so they sometimes skip entire turns, then you clear the board with Chaos Nova, Hellfire, Astromancer + Flamestrike/Blizzard, and many other spells in combination with Mo'arg Artificer, so it is possible to be used as twisting nether in control decks that don't have very strong boardclears. Yes, Faceless Corruptor counters it in current meta, but meta will shift. It has potential to be very powerful in specific combinations and even if not now, then for sure at some point in the future considering it has 2 years of Standard lifespan. 4 mana 12/12 with Twisting Nether is just too powerful on Neutral card to not see any play.

Sizzurp lol the best hunter deck isn’t even face hunter. Highlander hunter is great and is more midrangey than anything. Aggro isn’t very strong right now, decks like rogue warrior, Druid and mage can effectively counter them with board clears, armor and healing. There are easy ways around those decks.
T.J. shannon zero skill is involved with using face dragon hunter just use your side quest equip weapon that doesn’t lose durability and smack away at the opponents face healing is invalid when dealing with leaper gnomes a 3-infinite weapon and hero power

Well generally you rated every card by average statistics, which is ok, but in some cases I think many cards were just underrated by the community. Highlander Paladin was a great deck and I had a lot of fun playing it. It was the best counter for pirate warrior and face hunter. Also I ran Bandersmosh in every Shaman deck in this expansion, as it usually gives a lot of benefits. Sometimes it could win a game for me by giving me things like 2nd Zephrys.
I don't know if this is just for me but every time I hear Trump say "Phase Stalker" I hear "Face Doctor" instead ...... and it fits pretty well too.. so that what I'm gonna call it
I think it would be fun and cool to see Trump do a video going over the most impact full cards of a rotation, choosing from those cards that are about to rotate (so an obvious example for this rotation would be Zilliax). He could also do most overhyped and most overlooked cards while he was at it.

I really don't get how so few people saw Phase Stalker coming. Play it on 2 and it's good tempo as a 2/3 beast, get it in the late game and you get big bundle value and thin the trash from your Deck, and if you can protect it it can continue to give you more value. How could it be bad? Toxic Reinforcements I more understand, I thought it'd be alright, and it turned out better than anyone really expected. It makes sense due to how burn has a critical mass, but still it's surprising.
I played Lightning Breath and Skyfin together and it was(/is?) good. Maybe Scalrlord (pal dargon) baited people to think that Skyfin should be played in paladin but Shaman has Bloodlust and refilling your board with 1-2 cards is great. And even better - with Angler you may discover a bunch of them and even play for one mana with Scargil.
Purifier was played in Quest Rez priest with Hakkar as a 1 of. Pull out hakarr with zereks or just play it after baiting silences, putting your opponent on a time limit, and with all your healing you intentionally let it double itself 4-5 times and then throw purifier to cleanse them. It's actually WAY better than the archmage lady. Her cards could be neutrals and sometimes quite nonsense, along with the fact that she's a 9 mana card so you can't do anything else. There were turns I played this and was able to throw out the purifier after doing a mass hysteria and healing myself. And the cards i got were always class, which priests have a ton of clear cards so mostly good and along the same line. Actually after rebuilding this deck 2 days ago after getting mad at hunters im 13-5 and at diamond 5 atm. I think 1 star is a bit low when it fits in a winning deck thats at least t3, if not t2.

Hey Trump, it would be statistically more acurate, if you compare the winrates of all decks and check on sertain points of the season. Then, check the winrate of the specific card when drwan, and compare that over time at sertain points of the season. If so, you could do Trump reviews Trump reviews even more acurate, than befor. For me as a scientist at the university is your heuristic evaluation of the cards still a very good call for practice. I may include it in my statistic seminar. greetings.
Why are the Galakrond shaman cards still 5 star if Ancharr getting nerfed made it 2 star / t4? Galakrond Shaman has 2 star played winrate for the last 3 months since it got gutted.
I thought that was a weird comment as well, but I guess you could argue that based on his rating system which is mainly about how good is the deck the card is in, you could say Ancharr was never a 5 star card.
I kinda dislike how Trump tends to pat himself on the back for getting star ratings right, when he gave completely incorrect reasons for why they'd be rated that originally than why they ended up there.
I’d love if he also reviewed his hairstyle at the time and discussed its relevance in the meta

Whats better than skyfin without going higher cost in a highlander? Its like 7/7 on average and can high roll into paladin legendary.

I play two copies of steel beetle in my quest druid deck. The only deck I see on ladder is some form or another of highlander hunter. So so aggressive

Why are the Galakrond shaman cards still 5 star if Ancharr getting nerfed made it 2 star / t4? Galakrond Shaman has 2 star played winrate for the last 3 months since it got gutted.
Zannyin general, if a card got nerfed it means it’s too good and is given 5 stars. This is consistent with his older video

I thought that was a weird comment as well, but I guess you could argue that based on his rating system which is mainly about how good is the deck the card is in, you could say Ancharr was never a 5 star card.
