The DR8 is a great 4s or 6s buggy, probably one of the best value for money 6s trucks around. The stock rear shock tower can also be a weakness in crashes, they bend or crack through the middle where all those square holes are cut. FTX offers upgraded cnc towers, M2C also make carbon towers as well. Also the main weakness was the plastic hinge pin blocks, especially the rear one. Good to see you have upgraded those.
My mate Jake has one and i have driven it a few times, its an absolute animal on 6s. We went to Sandy forest a while back (Talbot's old stumping ground) and it took an absolute kicking! Nice video mate 👌
@RuisRcAdventures awesome. I am getting a lot of good vibes about this rc. Only thing I am a bit unsure of are the tires. I'm going to Try some other tires on it.
@FullOnRC yeah my mate did that too but ended up going back to stock tires. Can't remember which ones he ran though. One option on stock tires is to perhaps cut some of the lugs off, think that might offer a bit more bite
@@RuisRcAdventures very true. I am going to give the Corally SKeter tires a try. It looks pretty cool with them on. If it turns out OK. I will buy an extra one for the rear carrier so they all match. Thing I dont like about these tires are it slips then grips and rolls over.
@FullOnRC yeah they have a habit of doing that, i personally didn't dislike them but then again its down to personal preference. Still, for the money its an awesome rig, more so being an Ftx. I got a 10 scale Outlaw highly modified and its my fav rc despite owning an MT10 and a Mad Van 👍
First time I tried a 6s I was hooked . I just bought one off a whim by chance . Didn’t know anything about the time and got a k6s bnib . Learned quick . In the meantime , granite and 4s outcast . I think my next will defintely be a 6s . Typhon or notorious ?
Awesome choices. If you want extra speed and cheaper parts and availability check out my Team Corally videos. I highly recommend the Asuga. Like a Typhon but bigger and better imo as I've had both.. ua-cam.com/video/PJWVd3rsUN4/v-deo.html
@@FullOnRC you will most likely need an upgraded servo to steer that thick of fluid up front. But will not over-rotate the front tires, so they will not pop on you, and it will push a lot of the power to the rear. It will actually seem faster, drift a little bit, and handle better. I do the same in all my 6’s Arrma’s, which that thing pretty much is the same.

Thanks for the heads up.

buy the team corally retainers, they are stronger then the arma ones
Thanks for the info. Arrma retainers really cheap on Ebay.
100 front, 200 center, 50 rear
Thanks a lot. I will get the oils in when I next put a Modelsport order in. Cheers.

when i got my dr8 last week the diffs was empty out the box
Yerhh mine feel pretty empty too.
Grass is bad for RC cars. Gets caught in fans and ecu, will overheat.
Unfortunately living in the UK we don't have many other options. Good thing is I give my cars a good clean and blow off after each run.
