I took my Ember RV to Pemberton during a forest fire to see ghost town? Camper was safe but was I?

When I was young one of our neighbors shared a story that stuck in my mind ever since. They were camping, smelled smoke, tried to leave but the roads were blocked or clogged. He drove his family to where they had seen a creek, ripped the sheets off the beds and grabbed some water and food, and headed for the creek. When the fires got close and the smoke thick they waded out to where it was chest high for their kids, doused the sheets and spread them over their heads. The wet sheets helped filter the air, they stayed safe and cool. They saw the fire take over the other side but didn’t jump the creek. Their truck and camper was slightly damaged by the heat, but otherwise they were good. My point in sharing this was simple, keep track of water and know what to do, it can help save your life! ❤

That’s ok, a couple of years ago, we camped in BC. We drove past fires in Kamloops, and 3 other locations. Places we camped in evacuated just after we left.
Also Blanket Creek, nr Revelstoke is good. Clearwater has some ok sites. Wells Grey provincial park is just amazing. Over the border in Alberta, there are some outstanding sites nr Castle falls, Castle River, and Beaver Mines Lake. All nr hwy 3.

The road would not be a challenge for you and Sia but its a beautiful and fast drive nonetheless.

Hey Joe, I was up in Hope BC, last week. Come to find out Rambo is a big deal there. There even is a town walking tour. Maybe it would be a good video with some Rambo clips inserted !!! The Silver Chalice bar Pub even has a Rambo burger with 2 patties and and egg on top.

Just cus you're in Bralorne hardly means your trapped, you don't have to go back over the Hurley, head to Gold Bridge then to Lillooet and either 12 to the Fraser Valley or back over the Duff to Pemb.. stop being a drama queen.. trapped.. sheesh

You are right and the wonderful woman at the little store was giving me directions. She called out the road thought Lilloet as too long. Thanks for speaking up and for the other comment that I think is gone. I will try better.
