John, great video and I commend your dedication to safety for the sport. Might I suggest that you consider converting that dedication to a more tangible gesture, like making sure that all Red Paddle Boards come with a leash as a standard. All of your products come with a phone case and that is appreciated for sure but adding a leash for all your boards (not an add-on purchase) will definitely prove your commitment. As you said "if you don't have a leash, don't go paddleboarding". PFDs regulations vary depending on jurisdiction so that's okay. Red is a premium brand and definitely on top of the market so I am sure your target market will appreciate a leash being included for all boards.
I would agree, however, there isn't a single perfect leash for all types of paddle boarding. Coiled, straight, waist, etc... greenwatersports.com/2430/calf-or-ankle-coiled-or-straight-which-style-sup-leash-right-for-you?ref=17
they all come with a leash now, my 10'6 and 10'8 Ride both had them as standard issue

Merci John pour toutes ces conseils et bravo à toute l'équipe pour cette série de tutos très clairs ;-) -- Thanks John for all these advices and congrats to the team for this great and very didactic tutorial serie. Concerning security I was aware of everything you are talking about except the waist belts systems (buoy or leash). I have this question for you : is it possible to use the buoy belt with an ankle leash in place of a waist belt leash ?
Very important video !!!!! No Leash , No Paddle !
Great video and good comments here. One additional item: I would highly suggest adding a whistle to your buoyancy aid if it is not already integrated.
great vid thank you just bought a paddle board so very usefull.
Excellent info, many thanks. Also tides, swell, wind & weather important.
