We solved the compatibility problem with a discord server with audio channels
Please - provide some more information
@@dawidczajkowski2442they have discord server talk with audio running in a background, this means you need internet and no need for mesh at all
Once I saw this as an option 👍🤔👀
Love the video
Happy you weren't sponsored because the video is higher quality now
great vid. very in depth and helpful, thanks
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
I have a Sena and bought spare speaker/mic option so that I can swap the unit between helmets.
Works well.
Sena works for me.
Thanks for this! I am actually looking for some kind of intercom or bluetooth speaker/mic combo so it is very nice to hear pros and cons for some of them..
I was wondering how well those cheap bluetooth setups works, those that do not have intercom, but is just a headset/mic that you connect to your phone and then you can either call people to talk to them or join a discord voice chat room together to talk in a group. Would love to see how well that would work out. Of course people need to have a smart phone and be connected to the internet to use it, so in remote areas the connection might be pretty bad unless there is some kind of mesh app for phones so they can be connected together without being able to reach a cell tower?
Hope you have the possibility of looking into this also. Would solve the compatibility issue at least.
Does this unit have a feature that lets you hear your surroundings digitally, even if you're wearing a quiet motorcycle helmet? This is something I've been on the hunt for. Digital ear protection for hunting/shooting can do this without being very expensive, so I would think that a lot of these fancy intercom systems would have this built in as well. But I can't seem to find any definitive info online for cardo or sena
Great informative video was on the fence between sena and cardo you made the choice easy
They all should use PMR or newer DMR standard to communicate, but of course they don't because they make more money by forcing everyone to buy the same brand. DMR+BT helmet- and headphones are only sold in the security business, guards, police(Tetra) etc use them. With those you can use any DMR radio you want, cheap ones are like 20 euros per three radios with plenty of coverage (like 2km) while more capable radios have much longer range and life. DMR can do group calls in full duplex mode (everyone can talk) while older analogue PMR is half-duplex (only one talks at a time)
Thanks very much 👍
20 euros for 3 radios? bunkum
@@markifi PMRs are cheap
@@MikaelLevoniemi oh i thought you're talking DMR sorry. yeah. i see a 50 pack of baofeng bf-888s radios for 582 euros. not bad value. now on to convince 49 friends ...
My problem with Cardo is that in my experiences they don't do tech support. I wrote them two emails and they never got back to me.
Good review, some interesting issues not brought up in other videos, your experience with the product is helpful. Curious though why you compared the price of the top of the line Cardo system with a mid-range Sena system. The 50 series is still less expensive but closer in price than the Spider series is to the Edge. Seems a little misleading for folks doing comparison shopping.
What is the full battery charge durability?
I was seriously considering a Cardo pair for me and my gf riding on motorcycle and for when I join group rides but these group audio chat issues and the play/pause button situation is a big turn-off for me. Definitely gonna look at other options like Sena for the mesh or othee cheaper alternatives
Cardo does work with Sena and others....just takes a bit more setting up.
I have the jbl upgrade really nice sound :)
Does it also work for listening to music at the same time or purely for talking?
It works at the some time for intercom functions. Not at the same time when calling on the phone, that does neither work on any BT headphone
That would be cool if we can control the helmet intercom through smart watch, example intercom app or something🤔
I'm connecting through Sena Mesh (models 50R, ST1) - it works brilliantly. The best Mesh on the market at the best price. Cardo is too expensive.
You’re confused, my friend the Bluetooth and mesh combination allows connection to all Bluetooth units. Not just Cardo.
Is there a reason not to use an app on your group's phones to create a mesh network, and everyone can use any BT headset they want?
You have to use data then and drain your phones battery and have more lag. I think a stand alone solution is a bit better to use
@@mr_wrongway
What? No, the phones either connect to each other using BT or one of them acts as a wifi hotspot for the rest. No data usage, no lag. There are dedicated apps for this, at least on Android.
Adam what helmet is that? Love it, really like the intercoms but man that price...
Bell Super Air R :)
@@mr_wrongway thank you! Looks like a great helmet. My motor cycle helmet is too much, I end up not wearing it and grabbing my Watts 2.0 instead
Btw, can it be recharged while being in use???
Yes sir!
Yes!
I have a Cardo radio and love it. Excellent sound, speakers, comfortable to use.
Is it possible to make a group in WhatsApp (for example) and then to join in a group call and communicate that way? 🤷🏼
Yep but it takes data, charge on your phone and still has lag
Cardo now has a Sena bridge so they can talk to each other.
i have cardo but lately cardo sucs because they added pay to get features ...worst thing
Sena is superior. But i still choose cardo. First - when cardo getting low battery warning i still have more than hour till it goes off. Second - i live in country where raining allot. Cardo has ip67. Voice recognition with my accent is great. Sound quality is slightly better out of the box than Sena.
Pairing in open group, latency, eas of joining the existing groups Sena is far better.
Sena 50c is great
I bought the edge and find it hard to use, annoying to arrange a group chat. The play and pause aren’t intuitive. I miss incoming calls too. A bit disappointing as I purposely paid more for what I had thought was the premium unit. Should have bought Sena
It does everything with voice control. Just say "Answer" to answer a call...plenty of better videos on /UA-cam.
Pozdro!
My bad.
Im happy with my Sena 50R, which in my opinion was expensive... This one is just too much. 😬
You purchased the top model Sena, which comes with all features, and it is still cheaper than the Cardo Edge or a similarly priced Cardo that comes with a subscription. I also use the Sena 50R. If you're just interested in Mesh, the Sena Spider would be sufficient.
I believe Cardo and Sena can pair with each other using universal pairing mode (Bluetooth mode) and if you want to do mesh just have the brand with the most amount of devices in the group create the mesh and than use the Bluetooth mode to piggyback riders into the group. So if the mesh was cardo group I believe each Cardo headset can piggyback one Sena (or other Bluetooth intercom person) into the larger mesh group through the universal pairing.
Yes you can, but it is incredibly fiddly and such a pain to get working mid group ride. I use an older Cardo and the user interface and usability of the device feels like I'm using tech from early 2000.
W rękawiczkach moim zdaniem to niewykonalne. A Adamowi chodziło o takie szybkie wpinanie na piny, jedną ręką.
⚡👀⚡
Not up to date my friend, the new firmware allows sena mesh!
cool
All this tech should be in an iPhone app
yes it should be and perhaps even without the internet on some local portable wifi access point
I'm 1 of the only people on my group rides that doesn't have 1..
Great but expensive and I'm too poor to afford 1
isn't this terrible? they all have spent 250-410 euros per person for their gizmo and continue to peer-pressure their friends into buying this overpriced proprietary crap, instead of the community rising up and developing a 100 euro open source solution. maybe a DMR radio in a form that suits motorcycle helmets or something even more clever. people are just pissing away money. i know radios are fun and even useful for safety, but these are ludicrous prices for what you get. a group of 10 people could spend 3000 euros on better things
@@markifi and it excludes those that can't afford them
No. Easy answer.
