@@studylux3691 yeah i think so! i didn't spend too long on the application myself so as long as you can get your letters of recommendation in time you should be good :)

As I would like to express my passion on these topics in the "why yygs" essay, and why yygs is the only place that offers such courses for interns? P.S. I SUBSCRIBED!!!!
aw thank you! IST is a new session this year so i don't know personally, but according to their website you do get to learn about neuroscience and immunology, so definitely include them in your essay if that's what you're passionate about! and thank you for your support! :)

hi, for the activities, can I write Singing and Photography as I personally am very fond of the two. I do them privately as a hobby. is that fine. Pls answer since I need them for this years application
yes ofc! i don't know exactly what will get you in YYGS but as long as you can show your interest and fondness for the two activities then that will only help with your application.

hahaha i'd say the yygs online program might not have been as fun as the on-campus program but it was honestly really great for me to get to know the most amazing people all over the world! it was def an eye-opening experience. def apply and see how it goes!

I am also applying this year in the early decision I am currently working on my essay and they are kind of simple not very good. My stats are 86 out of 100.
Good luck. Put your best at essays... You can't change anything else. I too had slightly bad grades in Freshman year..

hmm your best bet would be to email the program itself but i think you might not be eligible since when i applied, they said only rising juniors and seniors were eligible. :(

thank you! unless you get financial aid you'll have to pay for your flights as well :( they are known to be quite generous with giving financial aid tho so if you think you qualify for that you should definitely apply for it too!

np! i didn't apply for financial aid so i can't speak too much about it, but for my cycle yygs was need-aware (meaning they would take whether you applied for aid or not into consideration for whether to accept/reject you) but i've heard the program is v generous w aid!

yes! as long as you're a high school sophomore/junior you can apply.
please tell me can i get into yygs program if i am in my senior year of high school because they has given option in 2021 application but on they their website they only mentioned that sophomore or jr. year students can participate
if you're an HS senior i don't think you're eligible, but definitely email them to check!

Congratulations! Do you have any tips for the essays or the application process in general?
@@genesiscastro5972for essays like write what they are asking about but should be well structured, good story telling little bit emotional and what I did was I start the main essay from third-person perspective and for recommendation letter, my maths teacher wrote the letter with me at school so this also played a main role. The main part of my application was my olympiad, stem competetion and I was also working in a NGO.
Hey TYSM for inspiring! Meanwhile, I am a 9th Grader (Freshie) and my first semester wasn't good, in fact, I got B an average cause for many reasons! I am sure for A's in my second semester! And Eventually, I think A's will be my friend in 10th Grade (Sophomore) too. Will I be encountering any disadvantage due to this? pls help, I am devastated :(
glad this video was helpful! YYGS looks at your application holistically so there are many other components they look at other than your grades like your activities, awards and essays. so my recommendation would be to not be dragged down too much by your grades and focus more on perfecting your essays! i also review my YYGS essays again in another video on my channel if you want to check it out for more tips :)

Yeah... if you're unable to pay for it though (it's on the expensive side, the exact tuition number is on their website, the link is in my description) you can apply for financial aid so your fees might be reduced or removed completely.

Just a small doubt...
In the application form activities section there is a question 'How many hours you spent in a week'. Does it matter to answer that question cuz I don't remember how many hours I spent in my activities
Sorry it's been a while since I filled out my application so I'm not too sure! Assuming they won't let you skip the question, just give your best estimate, just make sure you don't put down an unrealistic number or it could negatively impact your chances. Hope that helped! :)

applying rn and i find it so pathetic that they have 100 word limits for essays about your sessions choosing and why would u be a great fit to yygs. i have a lot to say but putting everything into 100 words is IMPOSSIBLE.

Did you apply for financial aid ? Will my chances of getting admitted be decreased if I apply for aid ?
I was fortunate to not need financial aid so I didn't apply. For the 2020 application cycle they were need-aware, so your chances of getting admitted would decrease if you applied. They haven't said anything about the 2021 application cycle though, so fingers crossed!
