6:03 I love how you disliked your own video. Great episode as always!
Been digging a new episode every week, I know it's not easy but they are quality.
Thanks bro!
It’s very consistent and I always like seeing their uploads
@@McCoy-00 agreed.....Joe is to good to us.
There are no sundays without Game Sack! Thanks for your work! Greetings from Venezuela! Been following you for years!
Ohhh otro venezolano que sigue gamesack, bien ahí. Saludos mi pana
@@Must0oni oh si! 🔥🔥🔥🔥👊

Sunday mornings, coffee and Game Sack. That's a good start to the day imo.
I've been watching Game Sack for years. This channel is so under rated. The production value and content is top notch! Just had to be said. Amen.
Amen
Woot! Really interesting seeing all these devices being created for retro systems. Some damn smart ppl out there.
A Game Sack episode today? Perfect birthday gift!
Today's my wife's b day as well.
Happy b day!
@@rufusray Thanks! Happy birthday to your wife as well.
Some 5 years ago I had been mostly away from video games for
Some 3 years, and I had no idea how popular gaming channels were, and you guys along with Metal Jesus made me fall in love with videogames again. Always great content.
That ending skit was pure art. Good lord.
You never fail to impress me, on top of your amazing top notch content you always make me laugh at the end of your videos.
Four weeks of GameSack in a row! Thats a new one!
Not really, there was a couple of years that Joe and Dave did episodes every week. Then they took a short break and came back with videos every 2 weeks starting with the Playstation 2 episode. Just FYI. But nice none the less.
Yep! And he does it solo now!
I'm loving it.
Nothing better than a fresh Sack.
Terraonion seems to REALLY like super recessed micro SD slots.
They do it for all of the extreme use cases that are common, such as my PS1 strapped to a pogo stick.
Ah what a wonderful time for retro gaming!
Also, that outro was ridiculous 😂
these little devices are really neat! I prefer using emulators for the convenience, but I like seeing these retro gadgets in action and you really do an excellent job in reviewing them. thank you!
What a time to be a retro gamer. The community of hardware developers making this stuff has me really excited to see what's next.
I've installed all these digital video mods, ODDE kits, and I'll buy all the future kits too! Really looking forward to the PS2digital.
2am and my Game Sack is swollen.
Yes I do like to learn about these mods and new things even if I dont plan on buying them, thank you! Go GameSack!
Dude, this show is so weirdly good! I love not knowing what's coming next ep and you never disappoint. Thanks for making my Sunday a joy!
6:03 you thumbs down your own video? Best sense of humor on YT hands down; just don't believe all your self-deprecations because you and this channel are still definitely a hidden gem who deserves many more likes/subs/praise all that positive stuff.
Did you just say HIDDEN GEM!?
Awesome episode Joe! Gamesack every Sunday for a month was a bless :D
Those mods are awesome but I wish we had a 'Saturn Digital' soooo bad :(
You are a true poet Joe!
319 episodes?! Sheesh. Keep going man love them
Been watching for seven years and Joe just keeps bringing us the good stuff.
bring it on punk
Love your work. Keeping it classy! Cheers!
We need an adapter that gives every game a *_TATE_* mode.
and one that replaces the main character sprite of every game with Green Dog!

This guy really ended the skit with, “that’s it, the end” 😂😂 he never misses
#1 outro thus far! 👍
No fart sounds so 0/10 just kiddi-
Spoilers, man! 🤣
We need Dave back so we can get more impress your friends skits...
I felt that
Props for ending on Arc the Lad, both 1 and 2 are fantastic games!
Thanks for the great episode, Joe!
Thespian Joe is the peak of retro gaming class
Thank you for doing what you do.
This is one my favorite series you do. Great to see a round up of all the new retro gear!
There's no day on work without GameSack Greeting from the PAL Region
Hope to meet you and Dave someday in real life to play around some classics -- unlikely but desirable
i really do look forward to these. bad ass
This is always going to be my favorite videogame centric UA-cam channel
That is some of the cleanest PlayStation footage I have ever seen Wow!
Anything that supports retro gaming, I'm behind! This is going to be a good episode!
Joe, you are a saint. Even though Gamesack was “Joe and Dave” for so many years, you approach the work you do for this channel as a professional. As a healthcare professional, myself, I respect and admire the attention to detail you put in to this channel. I just wish I could click the “thumbs up” icon twice. 😁
It isn’t Voultar’s board that eliminates jailbars from NEC hardware, it’s a couple capacitors inside that need to be replaced with a different value. IIRC, the fix was worked out by Tim Worthington. That was likely done to yours at the same time Voultar’s board was installed.
"They're gonna come up with a new connector to replace HDMI!!" Already have, it's Display Port. But the best bit is Display Port is HDMI compatible.
Love your humour Joe, nothing else hits quite like it 👍
Thanks Dave or Joe, I forget which one you are
Me too!
Just happened to still be awake at 2am EST so let's see what's in the ol game sack this week
Love this channel, awesome content, really brings back my childhood memories!
bs man
no this channel doesint
Extra episodes are always super welcome. Just so you know 🤞
21:24 I think it doesn't work with PS2 slim because that version used PS1 emulation to run PS1 games. The fat models included real PS1 hardware.
Wow!! Joe should win the Oscar for his successful portrayal of a Retro Game UA-cam channel host for all these years!!! Bravo!!!👏👏👏👏😆👍
Ridge Racer Type 4 soundtrack delivers a strong opening to this episode. Well done
The thicker beard is giving me some serious Walker Texas Ranger vibes. Looking sharp, my dude!
There's retro gaming, and then there's Game Sack retro gaming.
I think my favorite thing has been the Rad2X. 8bitdo bluetooth dongles for retro consoles are a big plus as well. Love the Gameboy style controllers.
There's so much cool stuff coming out for old systems. Thanks Joe
JetMoto!!!!
Just a small clip of my favorite game made my night. Thanks Joe!
I know nothing about modding, but watching Joe talking about it is still very interesting :) Great work as always ^_^
I remember being deployed in Turkey and there was a store that would install a mod chip so your PSOne could read DVRs. Which they would sell for $3 a game!
I thoroughly enjoyed the pronunciation of "PAL-ET". 10/10 would subscribe again.
What would an episode if Game Sack be without its bizarre pronunciations of words? I'm assuming PALettes are female gamers from Europe.
My Sunday Finally Starts!!! Thanks from Brazil😀
I ran with HD displays for retro gaming for 15 years. Finally got an old square 4:3 SDTV and never looked back. You don't want to see the pixels. That's the beauty of image rendering on SD displays. It's completely unlike LED. The quality is better than you remember too. It doesn't look at all like what SD video looks like on an HD screen. It's blended seamlessly without any noticeable artifacts. A piece a furniture worth the space if you have a rather large retro library. It's not the same playing old consoles on HD displays and its not the same emulating them. SD is the format it was designed on and for and it looks completely different than anything LED can produce. You can't even record an SD screen and play the video back on HD and have it look the same. Not only the visible scanlines, but LED's can't produce the brightness, vivid colors, or the round screen shape. Your display reduces the video to pixels. Yo but I'm not crazy, I have a giant 4k TV with all the color features hooked up to a modern gaming PC that I use a lot more. Just no point in playing an emulator or eshop title that shows these old games as pixelly messes when it didn't look like that at all until the mid-2000's released new displays.
I cannot roll my R’s. Like, at all. Bravo, Joe. Bravo.
It's awesome to watch a video from one of my favorite youtube channels as early as this. Keep with the awesome content.
Greetings from Mexico
Game Sack is a gamer who knows how to nerd out thouroughly....Lead me into battle my friend.
Thank god you dropped the act at the end... About time...
00:38 R4 Ridge Racer Type 4 - Lucid Rhythms, instant nostaliga, I loved Gran Turismo on the PS1, but I also love Ridge Racer and music was awesome.
Maaaaan.....
Where's Dave during this pandemic bullshit....?
You couldn't invite him over for some episodes?
I feel a deep rift.... Between you two...
You guys were like brother's... Bring your boy back man,we all miss him. Thanks.
Thanks for making me happy, Joe.
Nice choice of using Ridge Racer Type 4 music. Such a classic soundtrack.
I've experimenting wth the this great new device. It's called a CRT television. You can play all your old retro consoles on it! No lag; no sodering, no file manipulation. It's just plug and play, and, best, you get what people say is an 'authentic' experience!
I laughed way too hard at “well maybe if you like things that are crappy”
Aaaaaand that ending)))) it’s so good (whatever accent this may be).
9:34 - Hi Joe, a number of people use 480p output to play on CRT computer monitors, using an HDMI to VGA converter and it works great. The scanlines here work well and sorta simulates the look of a high TVL PVM. Retro RGB made a short video on this, with the OSSC in mind.
And albeit very rare, there's also the matter of 480p EDTV CRTs, I got one and it does not interpret 240p properly (it's a 100Hz set) or anything above 480p (it is not HD CRT), so 480p is the only viable option.
There's always a niche use for some function that might sound useless or reduntant to some, but it's useful to others. I was disappointed to learn the PS4 Pro and PS5 dropped 480p support. It's not like jacks and inputs that add cost to production (like PS5 dropping TOSLINK), it's just an option that could just be left there intact, even if most people don't use it, some might. Playing modern systems on a widescreen EDTV was one of those quirky little niche things I really enjoyed sometimes.
GameSack deserves a Netflix series.
That adaptive scan line mode is dope! Wish emulators had a shader setting like that. At least I don’t think one is available.
I'm always happy to see scanline options in these products. For some, it's important. I'm a big fan of scanlines, real or fake. At one point, I didn't understand it, but I looked into it and why people liked that. It was one of those things where I finally understood and saw what other people saw in it. Once I saw the difference, I could no longer unsee it.
I remember seeing a website a while back that explained the difference between the PC Engine and SuperGrafx with Darius. Using the extra video chip, and it's extra sprite and BG layers, was a nice enhancement to avoid the total and per-line sprite limits while still maintaining PCE compatibility, though with flicker. Really cool seeing that demonstrated in video.
Good to see all these retro accessories and that they do. As for the end skit, you reminded me of Jonathan Harris from the old Lost in Space TV show with that accent.
This episode in particular is a reason why you should list the games in appearance just like the music
The purpose of Bob in the PS1 Digital would likely be to use the capture device's or TV's own interlacing.
LOVE YOU GAME SACK!
If Limited Run/retro game companies and other cool UA-camrs like your own is all we need to keep the coolness going in retro/gaming :)
We need a memory card for the Saturn. I have all kind of storage possible for the Saturn ( Floppy disk, cartridge, pseudo Kai sd card cartridge, and Satiator save feature). I really wish to get a easy and safe save system like the ps1 memory card. On the Saturn all the systems that I have have some failure , the official cartridge can loose your saves, the floppy disk can’t save directly ( except 20 games), the Satiator reset your internal memory in your Saturn to save into the sd card, the pseudo Kai sd card cartridge can brick and the save process is very slow.
Great video Joe ! Not enough Sega but great 😜
I love this series. I'm glad the fans keep on breathing life into the actual good consoles.
Joe's been watching Jon Lovitz
Wow your friend Bill is really something else
The major caveat for all these products: When it's in stock... if ever again
I always knew he was actually a British criminal mastermind.
Thanks for the note about dual output. I still want an Super HD System³ Pro but now I know there is a reason to keep the UperGrafx UGX-02 around. :)
As for who would want 480p, well, that was one of the biggest things Bob from RetroRGB wanted to see from the UGX along with 240p. With either 240p or 480p you can go through a VGA adapter. Also, UperGrafx already supported Composite YUV colors over true digital HDMI on original hardware. ;)
David Shadoff worked with the UperGrafx creators to get what seems to be perfect drive emulation so Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective does not desync.
Analogue - HEAD UP!!!
Analogue is taking orders for Super Nt, Mega Sg and DACS right now. Started 8/9/21 at 8AM PDT. It's over 2 hours later and they still have some stock on ALL. If you want one GRAB IT NOW. Otherwise you may wait 6 months for another chance.
I didn't know where else to put this except your latest video. Hope you don't mind but if any of your viewers want one, I want them to have a chance.
I can hear the intro music in my head before I click. Damnit
In the end the arnold swartz accent was brilliant
I wonder if Joe is missing the Jewel Sword rooms in Symphony of the Night.... that pesky .2%
Nice
"Paletté"...Do you lift your pinky when you sip your tea? DO you eat a Snickers bar with a knife and fork??
Me personally, I'm fine with composite in the original resolutions on a CRT but these devices are really cool.
Off topic but I want to thank you joe for introducing me to the ys series
Wow, this just reminded me of how much I loved and played the hell out of Jet Moto!
12:01 I spotted the issue! The background layer and the overlay of the cockpit are shifted by two pixels!
4:02 I'm calling you "JJ" from now, Joe. I mean, JJ.

The first one sounds its worth getting

Awesome! 🎉🔥
My favorite topic covered on this channel. You're a serious pro, Joe! I need a huge and gaudy 3D Game Sack Logo neck chain I can wear while I rep that Redifer Game Life.
I absolutely love the PS1Digital!
and the MemCard Pro gives me confidence to start RPGs on the PS1 without fear of losing my save games
