Like whether you pick Silver Snow or Crimson Flower you KNOW the good professor's gonna be in trouble. (I myself am going for Silver Snow this run so yeah have fun prof, looks like you're getting the slower, more painful death if Hubert ever catches you)
Honestly, Catherine has the right attitude in regards to what she would do for Rhea. You shouldn't be willing to die for someone who wouldn't do the same for you.
Catherine as a character has many problems to me. She literally serves as a point of how oppressive the church can be via the absolution and punishment, her blind obedience to Rhea and even learning the backstory of ashe. With Cyril, we at least gets why he appreciates Rhea. But if you dont like Rhea to begin with, it's hard to understand Catherine's character, because we only have Catherine's words to go off of. Her support with Shamir and Ashe are in a way disappointing, because each time she has shown to show her devotion to Rhea despite her relationship with Shamir and Cristophe. Even if she said to Shamir, she would choose Shamir over herself. There is just not enough back story or development for me to appreciate Catherine's character.
Did you watch the vid lol? It’s explained that Catherine was falsely accused of a crime and fled the kingdom. Lady Rhea took her in and helped clear her name. Also, Rhea saved her life when she was a student at the officer’s academy.
Please, at least Catherine has a life outside serving Rhea. With Cyril, it's always 'Lady Rhea' this or 'Lady Rhea' that, to the point that he considers living for himself to be a betrayal to her. He didn't even react at all to her setting Fhirdiad on fire, unlike Catherine who did feel conflicted. Essentially, he's a perfect representation of Ferdinand's initial impression of Hubert- a complete sycophant who spends all of his time fretting over his lady without ever expressing an opinion of his own.
Dedue also is only loyal to Dimitri no matter what because he had nothing else to live for at the time. Catherine still had her family and her country, while Dedue didn't.
Sad that 2 of the most in your face tomboys of the game are just simps for more interesting characters. Catherine and Leonie have some serious potential, but are weighed down by how little they can be their own person and not Rheas whipped bitch or Jeralts little fangirl.
there's a lot more to leonie than just her thing with jeralt, imo. namely her resourcefulness (shown in her paralogue and many times in her supports), her care for her home (literally her whole motivation), her determination (it's leonie). while her jeralt thing can get annoying sometimes i feel it's unfair to ignore the other facets of her personality. catherine's character does mostly revolve around rhea so i can't defend her there, but it does come into very interesting conflict in some cases, like with shamir. i also find it nice how she can be really wise under all that toughness. i can see where you're coming from but to me her rhea obsession enhances her character rather than detracts from it

In my opinion she is overrated cause she immediately starts as a sword master class when she is below level requirement her availability is good if you don’t choose black eagles team but honestly just stick to other candidates for sword class units Felix is way better or Yuri this goes for other church of sieros characters they are very overrated except for Flayn she is one of by far the best healers in the game close second to Mercedes there the best healers cause of fortify best healing spell in the game
