Kix was one of the greatest rock bands and shows EVER. Prove me wrong. The glam stuff killed their ability to really hit the top. But fuck….if you’ve ever seen them live….ONE OF THE BEST
For all you Donnie haters listen up, there wouldn't be a KIX without him. Donnie Purnell was the brains and kick ass drill Sgt that made the band one of the best live outfits ever! He wrote all the songs and handled all the business. I Love all the guys. They were like family to me in the early days. It sucks how it all went down as the years went on and I'm super proud of the Brian, Ronnie, Jimmy and Steve for keeping it going. But don't be hating on the guy lead them to success.
I remember my first KIX album with Donnie and it was full of energy but lacking good songs. Was Contrary Mary on it? Anyway BMF was something else and I still don't understand why they did not make it commercially. By the way I'm not from Baltimore or East Coast but Europe. And I'm not the only one here that has loved them for over 30 years
Donnie was the best !! Still one of my favorite bands ever .. But it's just not the same without him. He made that bass thump it would shake your pant legs . He rocked !!!
Agreed! Now Donnie chose to quit. So be it. He is an angry man who hates everyone now, and mostly himself. It is sad because He has, and had huge Talent! Donnie was the original heart, soul, and brains of KIX!
I seen these guys at a bar in the country by Hagerstown, Maryland. Way back when and they were awesome. I seen them at a Metal Fest Type of Show in Virginia it was way back in the late 80's - early 90's - they gave me autographed stuff to take back to my head shop / record store in Michigan. They were very cool....and they appreciated the fans
Ty so much for uploading. I too was at this show. 22 yrs old, drove down from Pa almost every other night to live at HJ's and always caught every Kix show there. This is the real deal. The new incarnation can't hold a candle to this original lineup. Donnie's song writing and stage performance is still being talked about to this day. Such great times at Hammerjacks when ever Kix was on stage!
Seen them this past weekend at Harpos in Detroit. GREAT show. Unexplainably, this was my first time seeing them live. It brought me right back to high school. Steve is the definition of a 'front-man'.
I went on a semi date a few yrs ago. She wanted to go to one of our casinos here so we went. As we walked through we passed the Wolf's Den. Steve made his entrance on stage as we got closer. I thought is was a cover band. Then I saw Steve & the boys. I asked her if we could stay & watch. She didn't know who they were and passed on it. I handed her some money & said, "I'll find you when it's over". 🤘😆 They about brought the roof down. They were one of the most fun bands to ever watch. I've been a fan since Midnight Dynamite was released. They truly were/are everyone's band. And by the way, we didn't date and now I'm with the love of my life. And she love Kix too ❤
As someone who first learned of them all the way over in North Dakota in 1981, by the time 1991 rolled around they were known for Don't Close Your Eyes and Blow My Fuse - but my faves will always be from the first record. Wish I would have seen them live when the original lineup was intact.
I WAS THERE!!! These were the BEST TIMES EVER IN MY LIFE!!! 80'S Metal was/IS THE BEST GENRE AND GENERATION TO EVER BE IN, PERIOD! Partied with these guys after the show with friends, the nicest guys!
My goodness. This is coming up on 30 years later. I just saw Kix a few weeks ago in Frederick. It was a great time, but this was one of the best Kix shows I've ever been to. The first one I went to without my older brother.
I dont know how or why a Kix video came up in my feed, but god damn Im glad it did. I remember having their first album on a cassette and wearing it out from listening to it over and over. Man I miss those days.
I have so many memories of this great place. I lived about a mile away from Hammerjacks. I saw many concerts there. Kix,Trixter,Black Crowes,Warrant,Britney Fox,Iggy Pop and many others. Hopefully the new Hammerjacks will be just as popular. My favorite club to hang in back in the 80’s and 90’s.

No, Steve Whitman is not like "Diamond" David Lee Roth, besides the over all charisma...and bot at all like Bret Michael's! I would liken him more so to, say, Steven Tyler! But, whatever he is like, Kix were always a pleasure, and a breath of...real, fresh air!!!
They were outstanding when I saw them at Harpo's Detroit in 1987 or so.
@@joseywales8277 I felt it was my 2nd home, lmao! I was there 7 knights a week. But they F'd up once they hired the freaking hoes to dance on the bars. In which that messed & pissed me off!! That's how i was able to go 7 nights a week & by myself. If a woman danced on the bar to 1 song🎶🎼🎤, she received 1 free drink of her choice And of course sense my name is 🌷Rose🌹, MY choice was GIRL💰MONEY💵
Great show, like all of their live performances. Kix forever.
Kix Wrathchild and Childsplay Rocked !!!
Hell yes🤘
Dude Brian Jack would sing his ass off! O.C. had all the bands too! F N miss it!
The big three!!!!!! There was many more, but none had what it took to stick around
Dang - takes ya back watching Steve and the band in their prime!
Wow. I was there and they sounded amazing. Thank you to whoever posted this. Best part was everyone singling along to "Cold Blood". It was fucking amazing! This band was soooo underrated it sucks cause they rocked - especially live! I would say they were top 5 of the rock/ hair bands that I saw live. Amazing show!
These guys used to jam in my house. My sister dated the lead singer for 4 years off and on. It was awesome, there actually the nicest guys
I still got the itche from that nite and I'm 53 yrs old now back then I think I was 19 or 20 still eligal to get in I stole my older brother ID we were just like twins...so thanks big bro..lol
If you never went to Hammerjacks, or especially saw Kix at Hammerjacks, well, I'm afraid you missed out. But hey you can still see Kix and they STILL KICK ASS!!!!!
I'm sorry if I missed it I've been busy everytime I see music more than music helping people out promoting music 🎶
First time I ever saw Kix was at Hammerjacks..underage 😅
HAMMERJACK'S ........WOW....if you don't know ...im sorry, as i've said .....i might be old but i saw all the cool bands....and most at HAMMERJACK'S
Me too brother
miss them already, seen them from 1980 thru 2023 a bunch of times ,one of the few thing good from Maryland
I was at this show, and absolutely the best frontman and band ever!!
I watch this over and over.
The Mighty Shoes! I remember Steve jumping off the drum riser after HIS drum solo! right onto Donnie's Les Paul bass breaking the neck, we had a P bass in the van to get them through, Donnie called it a banana but was appreciative, all this at.... a bowling alley. They were the best, love love love. Leroy
Always an excellent live act.
I gotta say, these guys are definitely my favorite band. I've been a fan for almost 35 years now and can truly appreciate how tight of a band they are . Huge talent on that stage, right there!
These guys always brought the energy every show up until their last at Merri Weather. So underrated they are hard to beat live. 🤘🏼
Kix was one of the greatest rock bands and shows EVER. Prove me wrong. The glam stuff killed their ability to really hit the top. But fuck….if you’ve ever seen them live….ONE OF THE BEST
Great way to pre-game for their final concert tonight!
Firehouse, Poison, Cinderella, LA Guns, and for that matter, Guns and Roses couldn't hold a candle to theses guys. God Bless KIX!!!
Cinderella Fuckin rocks live....all bands you mentioned...are fun live.
Doesn’t matter what stratosphere GnR was on. They had one good album. Axl Rose was and is an egomaniacal prick and ruined the band.
I saw them back in the day. Killer live. LOUD. RAW. Awesome.
And I'm not the only one here that has loved them for over 30 years
troy peterson. Donne parents let the guy's jam at their house before band every got anywhere.alway remember that People !!!!
Donnie was the genius in the band and Steve couldn't deal with it.
Was that at the Rabbits Foot?
The Montainview!!! May have been that place.
Just saw them tonight 2019
Still rocking
Ty so much for uploading. I too was at this show. 22 yrs old, drove down from Pa almost every other night to live at HJ's and always caught every Kix show there.
This is the real deal. The new incarnation can't hold a candle to this original lineup. Donnie's song writing and stage performance is still being talked about to this day.
Such great times at Hammerjacks when ever Kix was on stage!
Damn, this is an amazing recording!! 👏🤘🤘
This was in a club. It felt as big as any arena show. Huge. Explosive. Never again.
Hammer jacks was not just and KIX packed them in every time they played there
Thanks for posting. What a time capsule of the 90s... Girl Money!
See them last month chameleon club lancaster .pa.....still awsome.
i WAS THERE!
Same here and it seems just like yesterday..so much fun!
I remember this concert. I was there too!
Wish I was, had to be killer.
Will be at the final show in Sept🤘. Grew up with this band🤘🤘
Fucking epic, I was there!!! I think I was at every day show all the way back to when they were the Shooze.
I worked 12 YRS at this Hammerjacks property. This was def recorded thru the soundboard.❤
Gonna miss these rockers! Thanks for the good times!! 🤘
Steve Whiteman is who David Lee Roth, Bret Michaels etc wanted to be.
Pro tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Brodie Enrique definitely, been using Flixzone for since november myself :)
@Brodie Enrique yea, I've been watching on flixzone for since december myself :D
Non better than DLR. sorry.
@@71lemansconvert82 But Whiteman can SING dude!
I was born and raised in Pigtown about a 10 minute walk to Hammerjacks, this was the place to be back then, get times there with and without Kix.
Seen them this past weekend at Harpos in Detroit. GREAT show. Unexplainably, this was my first time seeing them live. It brought me right back to high school. Steve is the definition of a 'front-man'.
Remember seeing them at wilmers Park Brandywine Maryland late 70s early 80s
And she love Kix too ❤
Saw them at Hammerjacks in 86…that place is legendary.
As someone who first learned of them all the way over in North Dakota in 1981, by the time 1991 rolled around they were known for Don't Close Your Eyes and Blow My Fuse - but my faves will always be from the first record. Wish I would have seen them live when the original lineup was intact.
Amazing performance!! Amazing footage! Thank you for uploading!
Not that i ever need to be reminded, but damn this is why KIX is my favorite band of all time.
I WAS THERE!!! These were the BEST TIMES EVER IN MY LIFE!!! 80'S Metal was/IS THE BEST GENRE AND GENERATION TO EVER BE IN, PERIOD! Partied with these guys after the show with friends, the nicest guys!
I've seen KIX in concert quite a few times, among other really great bands, but I must say that KIX is the BEST!! Love them!!
My goodness. This is coming up on 30 years later. I just saw Kix a few weeks ago in Frederick. It was a great time, but this was one of the best Kix shows I've ever been to. The first one I went to without my older brother.
KIX Started it all and Never got the credit they deserve!!
I dont know how or why a Kix video came up in my feed, but god damn Im glad it did. I remember having their first album on a cassette and wearing it out from listening to it over and over. Man I miss those days.
I saw them 20 plus times at Hammerjacks. I miss the fun of all 3 warehouses in a row.
Pure rock 'n roll kick-ass music.-
I love this band. They were my hometown heroes back in High School. Keep rockin'
New Hammerjacks? No shit? This place was iconic. There were so many awesome rock clubs and theaters back in those days. They were everywhere.
That was awesome!!
I pray to God that the 80’ and 90’s Rock n Roll comes back around before I die !
It was the best times of my life and today’s music ain’t got nothing on it…
