Thanks for the information. Does the 5 year period refer to from the day of arrival/ calendar year or tax year? Ie. Is there a ‘best time’ to arrive to maximise the gain say 1st Jan vs. Mid-year.

It's up to the end of the year on the year of arrival + 5 MORE years.
