Thanks for the review on this mate. I’m one of the guys that’s asked about it in your other videos. I think I’m sold on the water snake too. They seem like a solid choice for the price even with a few issues
@@chalkelectrical1795 No worries mate, I hoped it helped you out. Yeah go for it. Another guy commented saying he’s had it for 3 years with no problems at all so.. I guess it’s just unlucky if something happens.
Use Cruise Control mode for better speed control... you can adjust speed by 0.2kmh. Use course or bearing mode to track along a bank when fishing. I didn''t do this when I first got mine, recommend taking the time to learn how to use these modes it makes it so much easier to fish, I now use it all the time. The GPS module also makes a huge difference. It should be part of the motor and not an additional accessory.
@@trevorho9589 We appreciate the tips, I’ll try it out next time. Thank you for commenting, I hope people watching also read your comment to get some more info. I might look into getting the module. Thanks again, Josh.
@@gregbutler8841 it makes the motor a lot more easier to use especially when you use spot lock / anchor. And the ability to jog the boat position vs deactivating, move and reactivating spot lock. Plus prevents the cable getting wound up around the motor. Really should be part of the motor and not an additional extra.
@@jradventures693 I agree with above, you can can choose speed lock and bearing lock. basically point it where you want to go and how fast you want to move concentrate on fishing or relaxing
To improve the horrible feel of the remote buttons, fill the button cavities with epoxy, it removes the squishy feeling, and makes the remote feel as good as a minn kota remote. The heading sensor puck is also a must imo.
Looking like a reasonable choice, once you factor the price difference in. I don't mind replacing a module or two myself... and at several thousand less than the competitors it's a no brainer. Was leaning toward the motorguideds just becauser I have a Lowrance sounder and they'll network together, but I can't see me really wanting to control the motor from the sounder when I have a remote for it.

Thanks for the video mate , I’m having dramas with mine atm , I’m getting steering motor error come up on Spot Lock and course heading , but in manual mode it turns fine really strange :/ there sending out a new steering motor hopefully that fixes it
@@MrCustomvs yeah I don’t think that’s the problem , I got sent out a new motor and replaced it yesterday and still having the same issue . I don’t think my soldering was very good. I’m going to try again with crimps , see how that goes .
Thanks for the review. Was just wondering where you bought it from like was it from the Watersnake Company or did you get it from Anaconda as was wondering where did you get the parts from?
I use Water Snake 65lb 66 12v in the sea, in anchor mode it occasionally travels around the coordinates where I stand, around 10-15 meters. What do you think causes this problem?
@@furkanvapurlu2216 Might be an issue with the gps module. Contact support and try get a new one sent out. Pretty simple to replace the module or get one of those Nav sensor attachments if you can afford it. I’ve heard they make a difference.
Can you get a foot controller for that model? They have the little roller throttle controller which gives you a lot of control. Also, it will go a lot faster if you lift your outboard out of the water.
@@jradventures693 and you are getting a full day of fishing on that battery .......wow. I have a small 3.6m Stacer and am thinking about putting this on the bow. So the external GPS module (the puck) is essential in your opinion? Is it because of improvements in "anchor" accuracy or other reason?
