Although others might disagree with me here (which is fine; everyone has different opinions), I think you should pick a character that you find interesting or has a play-style that fits well with your personal playing-style. The logic being that you'll want to practice more and because if you have a main and a second character, you'll have more knowledge of the system mechanics (via having to think about matches differently depending on your character, the matchup, and what you know about your opponent), as well as having options when facing-off against characters that you don't feel comfortable with using your main. Hope this helps a little and best of luck! :)
At 4:00 this first game with Decapre is literally how 50% of my games with her go. Oh we start out to test their knowledge and reactions. Then when they turn up positive as the pokemon Slowpoke we go behind until they catch on which is never. The reason why i watch these videos is it is funny Gootecks thinking he is top tier but he is not by being exposed but still he thinks he top tier!!! Remember when scrubcat beat him online about 6 games and Gootecks was like nah it was 3 lolol.
