what amazes me about towns in the US is the vast wideness of the roads, twice the size of ours in UK, I can't say I know of any places like these, especially the ones with hardly any inhabitants now like some I've watched.
Remember to get the essential elements of each town. Cuthbert Georgia has Andrew College. Old Main was a Civil War Hospital. And from Lumpkin, Providence "little grand canyon" state park.
Going north on main road (27) ..... go north of town several miles and drop into a large "drop or valley"....when you get down in "bottom" LOOK AT THE TREES.... you are in TORNADO ALLEY.....hundreds of tornados have come right through there over the years
I've watched this video 10 dozen times along with side by side research on the names and history if anyone out there is watching and is from there, has a business there or either go to school there. Dm me. I would like to have a more personal tour.
I remember this town VERY WELL.... a bustling hub when I was a boy....very busy...."the big city".... I loved going to Lumpkin..... seems like yesterday.....was a beautiful town and lots of people....BTW, drugstores had lunch counters and some had "sit-down and eat" area....AND EVERYBODY SMOKED....it was wonderful and free back then......yup
@@Crazytraveladdicts thank you so much for documenting these places....soon they'll be gone forever....Georgia used to be like wild west....even DocHolliday came from Valdosta,Ga....my grandpa was in a famous gunfight at Wilson's Mill... I remembered that being somewhere around Kite, Ga....my Dad grew up working in turpentine woods over by Savannah(lots of fights and gunfights) and my grandpa was a moonshiner and my Dad was arrested for toting shine first time at 9 years old..... Dad grew up and never drank and was nice to everyone and raised us right and was a rich man(and people never knew he was a tough tough dude....he didn't want to be anything like grandpa)
UA-camrs if you had going to show the town talk to some of the people in the town don't just show that town try to speak to some of the people that live there
Lumpkins a very small town most folks probably are working and most probably commute elsewhere to work. Nowadays everyone lives in and around big city small-town USA is gradually vanishing
@@ryand4639 it's the same in almost all of small town America. Seen countless vlogs, just the same ghost towns, no folks anywhere to be seen. Crumbling buildings, Main St full of derelict store fronts. What happened to America?
Thank you for the feedback. We are just getting started so we are still in the learning process. Definitely a great idea to try to talk to some of the locals if possible
The diner is so cool. These old buildings just make you wonder...
Yes! These old buildings are so fascinating
Pretty town
❤️
I am enjoying your videos. Can you also include the libraries of those cities as well?
We will definitely try. We are so glad that you are enjoying our videos
My ancestors, Perkins family, are from there and a lot of them are buried there. They moved to East Texas in the mid 1800s

Lily's Restaurant is a good place to eat. Country cooking food that was really good. It isn't very big, but it was worth the stop.
We will definitely check it out next time

What if a zombie came out from one of those empty buildings?
We would probably 💩💩💩 ourselves lol
The building then wasn't empty was it?

Where is everyone?
It looked like a ghost town…. No one was out and about 🤷🏻♀️

Your videos with mean a lot if you talk to some other people in the town to just look at pictures and don't mean nothing
