@Dalgren969 Maybe, depends on taste. Did those have an influence over the largest subgenre of rock music that can still be traced back to them? No, I don't think so.
@scoby6333 That was on their second album...You know what other song made didn't show up until their second album? Nirvana's "Smells like Teen Spirit." Devo's "Whip It" was on their third album. QED, your argument is invalid. Pixies aren't huge because people don't like originality on their radio station all that much. Plus, as I can attest from personal experience, Frank Black's howl doesn't compliment driving all that much.
@NightmareGanon Actually yeah they did....lol R.E.M. helped shaped alternative rock, basically separating it from all the post-punk music that was going on....so realistically, R.E.M. was a much bigger influence and all around more popular....boom bitch
ive listened to this song like 40 times today...no exaggeration literally 40 times...thank you Kurt for showing me this band
"creep" and "the sweater song" owe their entire existence to this song
Great Vid. Pixies NEVER get old. Love it!
i love you kim deal!!!!!!!!!
probably wanted to get a longer set list in for that show
!!!!I BLEED!!!!!
hell yes.
kim deal is an amazinggggggg bass player!
Word.
This song is creepy but that's why it is so good. The Pixies are such a great band and what an inspiration!
Greatest band ever?

@seinfeld1006 Black Francis probably had it turned down before the show
@jims72 i commend you on your jest, good sir.
doolittle is a great album
Megadeth, Meshuggah, dream theater, the list goes on.
@Dalgren969 they are worshipped and revered.

Frank is the coolest fat guy in the world. haha love ya!!
i still dont understand how these guys didnt get mainstream. they rule. its also funny how they basically all got bald as time progressed
nobody knows we go to sleep as breathing flows my mind secedes
megadeth is fucking awesome man. and i've heard dream theatre is too.
There are few bands out there that are more misunderstood than the Pixies.
who do you think Weezer was influenced by (among others)?
Check out Weezer's cover of The Pixies' Velouria
They're playing kind of faster than usual.
I dunno', this sounds backwards to me. I find that pop stars have simple lyrics, but Pixies have lots of meaningful lyrics in their songs.
HOW DOES JOEY GET FEEDBACK LIKE THAT???????
no seriously, i am asking
just saw them in edmonton, sorry to everyone whose ears I screamed these lyrics into, I got some pissy looks haha.
youre wrong. he goes by both. depending what time in his career you look at. you must be thinking of the later years.
Get off Black Francis.. He's the king no matter what he tips the scale at. Getting old is harder on some of us than others. PIXIES own.
It's not enough that Kim's vocals got scarcer on later records. Kim's vocal mic seems a bit...subdued here.
TOO FAST SLOW IT DOWN!!!
@NightmareGanon Actually yeah they did....lol R.E.M. helped shaped alternative rock, basically separating it from all the post-punk music that was going on....so realistically, R.E.M. was a much bigger influence and all around more popular....boom bitch
this bassline is very similar to Weezer's "Only In Dreams"
So i'm not the only one that thinks this song sounds like anything from the blue album?
Wezzer is bad plagiarize.
Nirvana!
megadeth is the only band from the 80's that i prefer over the pixies
Weezer was influenced by Pixies. C'mon, dude.
