We were kids in Yugoslavia when the overthrow of Milosevic was happening. I happened to live in his hometown at the time. Everyone in the country had the clenched fist badges, shirts posters. Couldn't have been more than 10-12 years old but I remember the cops confiscating them off of our school backpacks, us running away to plaster flyers and posters all over buildings etc.
No it does not come from france buy they might have used also. Power of the fist is something people have used for 100 and 100 of years. You fight with a fist. The symbolic fist of power comes naturally when you fight for a cause
