    What I learned most from this video was something unrelated to Caleb. I learned that Rome is out there already cooking DBs in his 4th game. He's gonna be special once CW figures it out

      He's been cooking them since week one.. it was way more obvious then then this past week.. Rome is open alot but earlier in the season it felt almost caleb was trying to feed dj and Keenan and at times force it.. now he's feeding others I think cuz Keenan was out for a bit.

    21m, I think it was because Rome didn't turn his head to look back, the pocket collapsed and Caleb had to get rid of it before Rome looked back. Throwing it deep and hitting Rome in the Head or getting a first down... have to go with the first down, the WR group needs to have a faster clock on looking back.

    • @henrymanahan2764

      I think Caleb sensed the pressure. He got knicked around the ankles as he threw.

    • @CRubey23
      @CRubey23 Місяць тому

      Nah that’s on Caleb. I think he’s the truth but Rome was open and he has gotta throw that. I get it we got the 1st, but when the WR gets that open down deep you gotta throw it and then if it’s a catchable ball it’s Rome’s job to find the ball and catch it.

    13:10 I listed to you harp on Caleb and that screen repeatedly, he didn't get hit because he didn't retreat (besides retreat is away from target, you have him retreating sort of toward the target) but either way he was going to get leveled either way because Braxton Jones got beat by Verse. Regarding the TE on 3rd & 4: They cant have Cole Kmet block because hes been bad at blocking this year so far (until he makes a good one later in the second half). So Cole has to run the route and not Rome. If it were screen option instead of a screen with Cole cutting inside of Rome, its probably a first down because Rome had inside leverage when he needed outside leverage for the screen to work. At least Shane wasnt calling as many screens this week, and one did work with Swift, but man its still infuriating that the Bears cant get an opening drive score so far. Id take a FG just to make a damn statement instead of dropping turds on the first set of plays.

    At the 20:45 minute mark Tim is wondering why Caleb got off the vertical route so fast and immediately checked it down to kmet. I believe this was due to him believing he wasn’t going to have enough time to look for the deep route and his internal clock told him he needed to get rid of it right away. In this case he was right because if you look closely, you see that Braxton was beat yet again and Verse was about to get pressure on Caleb. In a matter of 1 second, it could have gone from a completed pass to being a strip sack. I won’t fault him for this at all, he has no reason to have faith that Braxton is going to protect his blindside

    Tim, with the TE screen, is it possible Waldron doesn't like swapping personnel because it becomes slightly more obvious what is coming with Kmet on the outside?

    • @1Stoltzy
      @1Stoltzy Місяць тому +1

      that's quite possible 100%, also now they have that play on tape. it's also possible the next team will see that formation and bite on that with a pump fake and have DJ down the sideline with a lob in stride for huge gain.

      @markDwattssr Місяць тому +1

      @@1Stoltzy that’s an easy change with the same exact formation. Get the ball to a WR on that outside screen and let the TE block. That’s not optimizing your personnel.

    • @philippizzitola8957
      @philippizzitola8957 Місяць тому

      @markDwattssr it's optimizing personnel but less likely to fool anybody. That's why I'm wondering if that's actually Waldron's plan.

      @@philippizzitola8957 if it’s being run out of the same formation that’s how you would fool them, throwing it to the TE just gives you 2 WR blocking on the outside and the big blocking 6’7 270 lb TE on a bubble screen trying to outrun DB’s on the outside. Yeah that tricked no one ever….

      When I first saw that play, I realized that Odunze blew the block. Get him in drills to block better. Frankly I dislike plays dependent on WRs having to make key blocks.

    I think he was trying to take the higher % throws and get positive yards rather than the deep shots he did in previous games.
