The Seal Cove Auto Museum, on Mount Desert Island in Maine, features early automobiles and motorcycles from the Brass Era (1895-1917). Over 60 vehicles tell the exciting story of early automotive history, the years when men tinkered in their barns and yards experimenting with steam, electricity, and gas-powered engines! The Seal Cove Auto Museum shares this story - the innovation, ingenuity, and the power of imagination - that created these vehicles and transformed life in America.

Wow!!! Those cars are incredible 🤯 Did they have an electric car? I'm so curious how they did electric cars back then. I knew they had steam locomotives; I had no idea they had steam automobiles. That was great and well worth $10!!! Thank you, Adam!!!💖
Yes they did have electric cars back then. They tested steam, electric, gas powered and anything else that people could think of propelling a vehicle down the road. Electric had actually started being produced in the late 1800s.
Some of the first cars used a homopolar motor the electricity flows through a conductor and when placed in a magnetic field, results in the motor making a full rotation, and moving the car forward.
Interesting fact the first electric motor was created in 1828 and the first electric vehicle was built in 1832.
@@AEWMaineTreasureAdventures So cool!!! I was shocked to hear they had electric cars back then; you must have been the one who told me, Adam. Why do you think they didn't catch on? The story of the two boys who built the car & became the company that built it, blew me away🤯 History is so cool. Thank you, Adam!!!
Very nice trip reminds me of the Henry ford museum
Thank you, I wish I filmed at the Henry Ford Museum when I was there a few years ago. So much history

#modaydigs Kathy and I were just at Space Farms: Zoo & Museum they had all kinds of old buggys, wagons, cars and motorcycles it was amazing.. The Native American display contained thousands of pieces
That’s awesome, I’m kinda jealous. I want to go to the Space Farms Zoo & Museum the next time I’m in New Jersey. I wanted to check it out last time I was down there but never got to it.
