Apparently this Aussie comedy series ended each week's episode with a different variation on "Stairway to Heaven," including different styles and genres of music, different melodies (like this one) and even no music at all (thanks, Leonard Teale!). I wish I'd been able to see this show back then.
Robyne Dunn is so beautiful, this song is very well crafted. I have heard Robyne live at the Basement- being right up the front I could actually hear her voice before the pa had minimal effect. She can sing anything, Robyne's more serious work is where it's at where her words get right into your soul. I will be forever a huge fan. Having met Robyne later I found her lovely and highly intelligent.
Ben I would love to get in contact with you. I have loved Robyne for over 30 years and I have also met her several times and have stayed in contact with her. I still frequently listen to all of her music, and just found a replacement copy of my 'Spindrift' CD which got damaged. My snapchat is nicot6881 if you want to send me a message. I live in Melbourne.
Love, love, love this version. I heard this over 20 years ago on this CD called "Stairways to Heaven" with all different versions of the classic song. and this one by far was the best one. I still love it. thanks for uploading it!
I was just discussing the other day, about the Money and the Gun album, and the trippy Sergeant Pepper-ish version by the singer I couldn't remember. It was always my favourite - and here it is! Many thanks.
I grew up with 'Money or the Gun', all of these great versions on a VHS tape. This rendition would be my favorite, my brother however vastly prefers 'The Pirate one' :P
Thanks djonusas for your efforts in putting up STH all versions, I had forgotten them, originally each was eagerly waited for each week on Andrew's show.

fantastic voice
I was visiting friends in Australia in the '90's and they turned me on to the album. Immediately I bought a double cassette of it.

This is a really beautiful version, her voice is so sweet and pure.
SUCH a beautiful and skillful blending of classic songs .
Love this version of the classic . . .
Just like the Beatnix. It takes two of the best bands and puts them together.

Ahh the memories!.....love it.
Interesting mix....
The best of the TMOTG versions!
I like the doors cover and this
Who is/was Robyne Dunn?
@webaroos you're welcome. it seemed a shame to leave them mouldering in the loft...
Hi - has this play list been censored? I notice that Rolf Harris's version of Stairway to Heaven is not on the list.
Nice version, but sounds a lot like "Lucy in the sky with diamonds"...
I'd be surprised if that wasn't deliberate.
@@gregmaland5318 yes. It was intentional.
