    Hello Josh! I wanted to thank you so much, for a month and a half I prepared for my TOEFLibt with your content. Today I got my results and I’m so so happy and grateful for your help!
    The school that I’m applying to required me to get an 80 but I was aiming for 100, and that’s exactly the result I got! 😭
    Overall: reading 23, listening 24, speaking 28 and writing 25
    I wanted to thank you because I actually thought my lowest score was going to be speaking and look! It was my best!
    Please don’t stop making this content, it helps a lot of people! You’re exercises helped me a lot to get an idea on what the test would be like and I definitely feel like I improved a lot with the language!

    I had my TOEFL Exam in 30th April and I had around 3 days to prepare for the test. The speaking section was a big Achilles heel for me since I have bad habit of stammering even under a little bit of pressure. Your previous videos gave me the required practice to increase my confidence enough to get 23 in the speaking section(22 was the cut-off). Also, I got 29 in each of the other sections. Hence, 110 in total. Thank you so much! Maybe if I had access to this video before the exam, it would have been a little bit better😥.

      yeah yeah we get that you are smart. Do not have to brag about excelling the exam after preparing for only 3 days. It is impossible for non native speakers to do that unless they had western education based on English as first language. So stop. It gives the wrong idea to students who are appearing for the exam about the difficulty level of the test. apparently I see mostly Indians bragging about it in the comments. someone prepared for 2 days and got 120 and some of them even did not study at all. Hello Josh! I took the TOEFL with a few days of preparation, and realized too close to the date of the test that speaking was the hardest part for me! However, with your speaking practice and the help of an AI recording website, I got the results I needed. I think I failed one speaking task but I composed myself and quickly reflected on what my mistakes had been. I felt insecure about my delivery because I did not fully understand the academic concept that was briefly flashed to me, so I said exactly that in my last task... it was something like "Even though I did not fully understand the concept of blah, blah. I did understand ...and went on and on about what I had understood. I nailed that last speaking task and I am sure that it increased my score. My tip is relax and speak as much as you can. Thanks again Josh!

    • @hamzzaismail9902
      @hamzzaismail9902 2 роки тому +1

      @@funny100m12 Well, first of all you have to study 3 hours each day for three months before taking the test. For the speaking and writing sections you have to follow the templates. But it is great to listen, and read academic topics, and build strong vocabulary. Then you can use some materials like books and channels. I recommend 400 word must have for the TOEFL, it is for free and very helpful, cuz the vocabulary are always illustrated in a short text. Best advice is to improve what you can't and don't waste time for something else. But obviously if you are a native speaker it will be much easier. I am not, so therefore it was quite harsh.
      Good luck.

    Hi Josh! I want to ask if I can answer Q1 (choose something you think is better) in a way that agrees with both choices? For example, Q1 in the ETS practice test asks me to choose between taking risks and being cautious. Both your and ETS's guidance only mentioned choosing one of the options. However, the world needs both of these to really run

      Great question. There are many different ways to answer an independent speaking question. We usually recommend that you stick to one side and focus on it, but it's up to you, as long as you answer the question.

      Hi there Juliana and great question. This isn't really a strong rule and there are many ways to score well on the TOEFL Speaking. It should be fine, but note that your introduction does not have much important information in terms of content and vocabulary so it's a good idea to reduce it to less than 15 seconds so you can develop the topic and expand on your answer.

      "I would never have been able to do it if I had planned with someone else." This is correct, it looks like you understand the grammar rule. To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much about this kind of grammar tense in TOEFL Speaking and speaking in general. It's fairly rare.

Or can I just not tell the reasons and go straight to discussing the listening part?

      The Reading passage (in questions 2 and 3) will disappear after a certain amount of time and won't return.

    1 minute for these questions is so short in my opinion! I wish you had a bit more time, because I always need to rush when answering them and cant talk about all the points I want to make.

    45s-60s is such a short amount of time to develop an answer, i'm fr the biggest rambler ever no matter the language this is a struggle 😩😩

      You're not alone! Lots of students feel the same way. It's weird to speak "on command". The best cure I know for this is to practice in a TOEFL-like situation, use a timer, record your response, and try to get used to those weird settings by continuing to practice every day. Hope that helps!

      Really wished the speaking part could have been with an interviewer though, I'm usually much better at irl conversation too bad TOEFL doesn't care about rizz lol

    Josh please reply to my comment as quickly as possible. I have a question. Which speaking template should I use? Basic or advanced? Please respond Please Please Please because my test is very close.

      Use the one you feel most comfortable with. Lately, I have been encouraging students to mix between templates to build something of their own. You can earn a high score with either template. In general, the most important part of your Speaking score is your own speaking outside the template. Hope this helps and good luck on your test!

      @@TSTPrep Thanks Josh I have done the same after watching to some of your videos and guess what, I fulfilled almost every requirement of the self assessment checklist you gave in your latest video. You are awesome. You always replied to every query I asked. Thank you so much.

    Hi Josh I have a question. First of all, thank you for these wonderful practices. The question is if we can take notes during speaking process(what I meant is in question type 2 reading and listening parts). Thank you. :)

    • @TSTPrep
      @TSTPrep  2 роки тому +1

      You can take notes whenever you like. The only exception is at the beginning of a section when they are reading directions (or during the 10-minute break time in the middle of the test).
