      Thanks so much, Charlie!! It’s for this exact reason that I recorded it and intend to do many more solos just like it. So glad it was helpful!!

    I have been replaying your performance so much lately that I just bought the sheet music. Thank you for inspiration; I hope my 4/4 can reach the bar you set.

    Any possibility of getting the 1st movement to complete the Capuzzi Bass Concerto? Sounds FANTASTIC!

    Don't mind me, 4:48 to 5:43 is what I need for an audition. 😊

    Curious about your recording gear/setup and placement, sounds really nice! Always have a hard time with blowing out my (cheap) USB mic, and lowering the gain just makes it sound "empty". Any post-processing (bass EQ / low pass filters) ?

      Thanks! I placed the microphone within a foot of my bell. It is usually at bell height, pointing at the edge, on the far side of the valves. This gives me a nice warm sound and helps to isolate from the very dry studio. This way, I can add reverb to that dry, but clear, recording.

    Does anyone have any tips on how to play 5:27 - 5:37 just can’t get it down

    • @thebagelsandwich5501
      @thebagelsandwich5501 Рік тому +1

      I would recommend playing the part at 60 bpm, then 62, 64, and so on until you reach the written tempo. It might seem tedious, but if you have the time, the repetition helps a ton.

      @@thebagelsandwich5501 how would you say for me to play it what technique do I use

    • @ScottSutherlandMusic
      @ScottSutherlandMusic  10 місяців тому

      The “technique” is to make it perfect at the slowest tempo necessary. If the fastest you can play it is at 40bpm, then start there. Play it at that tempo until you can get it 5 times in a row perfectly, then try it at 42bpm. Once you can get it 5 times in a row perfectly at 42, then try it at 44bpm. Rinse and repeat 😆

    Does anyone have the piano sheet music for this

    • @ScottSutherlandMusic

      It’s a pretty popular piece. You should be able to find it easily with a quick Google search and purchase it
