Nobody respects truck drivers anywhere it the world. It's shameful. And here I thought getting paid $22 CAD/hour driving semi locally was "low". 170 Euro ($265 CAD) a DAY!? If I wasn't making more than $300 CAD a day running OTR, I saw it as a wasted day, and I thought North American drivers were severely underpaid. YIKES We're doing skilled-trades level work, we deserve skilled-trades level pay. In Canada, that ranges from $31-42/hour, and the highest paying hourly local semi/artic drivers I know make $27. Highest OTR drivers on average make between $24-28/hour (but usually paid mileage rates). And they are home for 36 hours every 7-14 days if they are lucky. It's just not worth doing... but our economies depend on it being done.

Thats crazy man, I earned 125 a day with a company I've since left due to the stupid hours they expected along with late notice for start times every day etc and that was with a van. Thinking of getting the rigid license but dreading the cost 😂

Hey.. you can buy a nice little fridge in halfords that plugs into 24v in truck. Have one over a year now and not a bother on it. Cant exactly remember what i paid but there not expensive.. keeps food nice and cold. Fits on passenger seat and seat belt it in. Takes 2 seconds to move if you have a passenger.. reflect auto care sells kettles for trucks... plug in cigarette lighter ones.

Lowest pay rate should be €200 a day. Your never buy a home on that money. Rent in Dublin €2000 a month That leaves €200 a week to live on after your rent or mortgage. €208 on welfare with council paying rent. Best stay at home.

Doesn't seem like particularly great money, given I'm already earning over 16 euro an hour as a storeman, ..working nice sociable hours to boot. I was toying with the idea of trucking for a while, ..however the wages would need to be considerably higher than what I'm currently earning in order to compensate for the unsociable hours, and the substantial expense of getting the license and CPC's. I reckon, at this point I'd only bother with the expense and effort, if: 1) I suddenly became unemployed and getting a truck license would be the difference in getting a job or not, ..or 2), I planned to move to a country where truckers are paid considerably more.

Learn how to work a concrete pump because the Money is much better then what you sed and you are on a different site each day and home every night. I whould not get out of bed for the wages you sed to drive a rig for them hour's. I worked on the port tunnel and a bad week was €1200 take home back then in the boom time wish it was back to them good times

Utterly utterly useless answer. It just so happens that I'm a qualified lorry driver living in Ireland and I was curious. The UK answer is - About £13/hr give or take for days. Class 1 doesn't pay much more but there's more overtime at time and a half after 8 hrs, An extra pound or so for nights, time and a half for Saturdays, double time for Sundays and about £30 for a night out. Maybe a bit of lunch money. Means days is about £550 a week. Nights with a bit of overtime maybe as much as £650/700 And tramping maybe a grand a week. That's how you answer the question matey-o Cheers
I said 80-120 EUROS for rigid drivers. 100-170 EUROS for an artic driver. Ranging across all types of haulage, some types of work pay more than others. I’m sorry that you wasted your time, As a qualified driver you should already know the pay. Maybe you should do a UA-cam video on it seeing as you know it all.
