I was shopping minding my own business the other day and at the tills a little 9 year old girl was singing “we are the champions” as she helped her mum, its wonderful that freddies music is still touching generation after generation, his legacy is still there for all to enjoy x

I saw Queen in concert in 1986. I was against the stage and at the end, Freddie came out with an armful of carnations that he tossed to people. I have one to this day, preserved in wax paper... a flower from Freddie Mercury. I fell absolutely in love with Freddie in the 70s when I was 12 or 13. Never stopped loving that brilliant man.

The man that was Fahrokk Bulsara is gone, though because of his musical accomplishments and the millions of adoring fans Freddie Mercury will live on in our hearts forever. 28 years have passed since he left us, and I'd imagine he's smiling down not only on John, Roger and Brian but on anyone who tells a story about him, or listens to his work.

No human could have arranged the moments of fate that you described in your story. From the traffic combined with being right at the crematory that point in time, walking through the people dispersing, making it into the crematorium, seeing his remaining survivors, just as the casket was moving in the oven, this was a spiritually arranged phenomenon just for you, no doubt. May the legacy of Queen live on, thru tribute bands like Queen Nation, and the like. Thanks for sharing your story.....

@@maryvee61 yeah his ashes are not buried anywhere. It's a shame they were too afraid to bury them anywhere because they were afraid they'd be stolen. I would think that his mother might have had them and then when she passed his sister might have inherited or taken them, however you say it and it's not unheard of that people separate the ashes and give part of them to one person and part to someone else. I have read many people have given their ashes to their parents and then also their spouse. I'm sure Jim Hutton had some of Freddie's ashes until he died. I mean it's hard to say because his parents were still alive, you would think his parents would want them, but Jim and him were together a lot of years and they truly loved each other and you would think that Jim being the quote un quote common-law spouse he would want them as well. and of course Mary being his what he called his soulmate would also seem a logical choice. I mean it's hard to say. I would think that either his mother had them and then passed them when she died to the sister or to Mary or that they split them up and Mary had some and his mother and father had some, but he's not buried anywhere it's just a grave marker.

    • @ginnyalderson6391
      @ginnyalderson6391 5 років тому +8

I would imagine Freddie’s ashes would be with Mary to possibly bury when both his parents had passed away to be with them, which would have been his Mother as his father passed first. I doubt they would have been shared out !! Or to be buried when the love of his life passes away to be with her. Mary is still alive so maybe the final resting place for Freddie will be with Mary. Who knows but at the end of the day it’s Freddie’s business only. He belonged to no one. Nobody does ❤️.

Almost like Freddie giving one of his fans one last gift or good bye while he was on this Earth. Allan went off of his

I can’t even, and I hope I never do, imagine the pain Freddie’s family was going through, as just the 3 of them left, say goodbye to their beloved son and brother for the last time. I don’t know if his family saw you but, if they did you may never know what a comfort you may have been to them at that moment. Showing them honor and respecting their privacy at the worst time of their lives surely had to be deeply appreciated. I know I would have. What a kind man you are. Thank-you so much for sharing your private memory of Freddie.

I was only 2 years old when Freddie died, and I still ache for his life. I'm definitely crying, I can feel the weight of what you felt in those moments and I'm shaking. What you said about the larger than life performer now being dead and his parents saying goodbye weighs on me. Freddy mercury was the best entertainer I've ever seen. People who are talking about safe sex and stuff have to remember things were very different back then when he first was diagnosed (around 1986 I think) it was only just starting to get talked about very little was known and very few people admitted to being gay there was a lot of stigma attached to it,It was a totally different culture people were less tolerant and understanding.

Of all the rock i follwed, his death that was televised was prominent to me. I bounce around the stage as he did, i had a very similar musical youthhood, and now as i write this, i feel close. im much too young being born in 1975 to have known all the history, and not allowed to listen to rock and sneaking my 8track radio off to tune into something....I found what I was looking for, and it has shaped my musical life without me ever knowing....miss you even though i never got to know you...

Listening to your story, I found you to be deliberate in locating Freddie's funeral by firstly driving to his home to hopefully get a look at who would be there in their time of grief and secondly listening to the radio to locate his funeral, this was not a public invitation or a chance for you to be interviewed by the media, yet you chose to push the boundaries and delighted in storytelling of a family at their most painful and vulnerable time. You delighted in observing the pain of Freddie's parents and sister, you greedily took in the sights, the notes and the aroma of the flowers, you revelled in watching the comings and goings of the stars who were not stars to Freddie but personal friends who's hearts were breaking while the final farewell of someone who they loved and had known for more years than you could ever imagine. Finally you have the audacity to produce this with the title of FREDDIE MERCURY AND ME !
I came across this by accident and I've never been so sorry to view such a disgraceful story when the reality of this is, YOU invaded and took delight in pushing the boundaries to see how far you could get before being found out for the uninvited intruder that you were.

He was one of the best entertainers that god gave us. His voice will never be forgotten his playful antics on stage it just tragedy

    • @dianal.clausen8118

There is no tragedy, Rich; all the beauty and heartfelt intelligence he gave us and we are still receiving. While he was here he gave us all,, everything what more could we want. I'm happy he was born. Sing out loud with his concerts, let the tears flow until you are smiling and laughing through tears of joy. Freddie loved each ones of us and wants us to be happy when we remember him.

Hi ,@@richcarnaggio1525 It just did it to me again-- writing to you and whoops, off into cyber space. Perhaps my notes are too long. Anyway, just found Freddie/Queen and am enchanted. I think my replies are too long and blast off somewhere. Is it cold where you are? It's -22 degree chill factor in Chicago. No one on the street -- at all!!! By for now, Best to you. Hope we can talk more later. Hope the gov shutdown ends soon

Here I am, 11 years old listening to Queen, crying about a man who died 28 years ago and I wasn’t alive to know him or see a Queen concert. My parents didn’t even introduce me to Queen, I gain interest in Queen and Freddie Mercury. Freddie is my idol, the reason I keep on going with life, he inspired me to pursue my dream of being a musician and pianist. I’m practicing piano right now (but I suck).

I am not so glad Trent stepped back, I believe he was meant to be there, to have gotten as far as he did, and not be asked to turn around He was there for two reasons, he was meant to be there and Freddie Mercury wanted him to be there. Trent, I thank you for sharing your beautiful story final memory). You made Freddie very proud!

AWWW Friend! ♡ My heart goes out to you, ...but thank you for your sincere, polite, compassion! Just understand that not everyone would have responded as so respectful, ...but you did! ♡ ...had it been someone else, they very likely might have disturbed his family's last few moments with him. And I know that Freddie deeply appreciated that! ♡ So ALWAYS remember that about yourself. Such a genuinely SWEET compassionate gesture! ♡ Love and blessings to you and yours!♡
