nah lets just remove concusive effect from this pummeler and fire dot from incindiery breaker as we did with shrapnels from shrapnel based gun, explosions from explosive crossbow and stagger from slagger (I no longer can see these big holes in big enemies btw :p) . everything will be perfectly balanced and the same.... peeps will gona love it :D :D :D as usualy, everyone loves boring stuff for the sake of balance.
AH balance team: We found that the players are exploiting Pummeler to stunlock the non-chaff enemies such as charger, which is not the weapon intended use. Pummeler has been reworked, its stun effect now has diminishing return, the enemy that has been shot will gain stun resistance buildup and eventually becomes immune to stun, the said stun immunity will wear off after a short duration of 15 seconds. Additionally, to ensure Pummeler doesn't overshadow the weapon with the similar capability, the Pummeler capacity now reduces to a slightly less generous amount of 35 to and max clips reduce to a fair amount of 3. We hope that this change will make the Pummeler fun and enjoyable for all the players that had spent 1000 super credits for this balance and amazing warbond.
AH - watches video, sees gun is capable and fun, nerfs it - pretends it's part of some master plan - rinse and repeat. Oh yeah, take my money for a war bond then nerf the weapons. Joke.
2:43 and versus the brood commanders this is great, it only takes 1 mag to the face for a kill. you will only need 3 resupplies to clear a bug breach in helldive difficulty. If it's a bile spewer planet, you will only need 5 resupplies to kill 20 bile spewers which can spawn every few minutes.
You covered the point I was going to make, this is excellent when paired with DOT weapons. I ran it with the incendiary impacts and the flamethrower and it was some of the most fun I’ve had in the game. You see a bug breach, you throw a grenade on it and stagger everything that comes out while they take fire damage and being stunned gives you an extra second to get out the flamethrower and pour more fire on it. It also allows you to keep a target in the range of your strategem call downs. It’s not a quick kill weapon and I don’t think it’s meant to be, but it is fun when you learn its strengths and isn’t that what a game should be about. I think it could be balanced better but that is true for all primaries in the game right now. It doesn’t make sense that it does less damage per bullet than the other smg, if anything considering it hits hard enough to stagger it should do more. I would be happy if it had the same damage as the other smg and kept the mag size of 45 and give the defender a mag capacity bump of ten or so more rounds (it can’t stagger but can dish out more damage over time and has fewer reloads). That makes more sense to me, buff the original guns to level out with new releases, don’t nerf all the new stuff to match the old.
This gun is not OP but has a perfect place in Helldivers! It’s stopping power makes it special and that’s pretty much it. This gun doesn’t need to be nerfed or buffed. It’s a SMG. The fact I can stop hoards on the run while firing on the run one handed is amazing too. I wish all weapons made sense like this one. Again not the greatest but it’s a SMG. Devs got it right this time. Now please devs keep your hands off it, no nerfing!!!
The liberator concussive is still useful. The two weapons do the same thing but the liberator has a about 3 times the knock back as the pummeler and this quite literally allows it to push back the horde
I absolutely adore this weapon against Bots. The ability to one hand this with a ballistic shield and stunlock those annoying rocket or shield devastators while taking little to no damage is amazing
i quite like this gun and its very telling that the community operates purely off hearsay when they compare it to the liberator which has an insane amount of stun compared to this thing, its instantly noticeable if you try them yourself but i guess most people are too lazy similarly i like the pulverizer a bunch, its about the same in power as the liberator so its a little weak but viable, and it handles incredibly well, its perfect for mowing down hunters and shriekers since its so easy to stay on target, and it has more reserve ammo than the liberator too, but again people just look at the stats and ignore everything else...
Watched a leaked weapon showcase of this warbond, and after getting my hands on them I can say my opinions stayed the same. Pummeler, new secondary, and grenade feel fine. I just wanted the tenderizer to be good though.😢 idk if there is a crit multiplier tucked away on hidden stats, but it sure doesnt feel like it.
It's the base assault rifle with a bit less ammo and 33% less recoil. What's the problem? I know it's not flashy but yall know weapons are supposed to be sidegrades not direct upgrades right?
@@zacfor4454 A sidegrade that excels in what exactly? Sure it has less recoil, but it does less damage, has fewer rounds in the magazine, and doesn't even fully resupply from resupply containers. The weapon is utter shit, stop coping about it
@@zacfor4454 I mean if you had an issue with the base liberators recoil idk what to tell you. I'm not taking 10 less shots per mag just for slightly better recoil and a couple more mags. I never implied it had to be broken, but its description clearly says it should be a bit more powerful within its category in exchange for the the tradeoffs it has. My interpretation of what the tenderizer should be is being able to take brood commanders/stalkers/ devastators out in less shots in exchange for mass add clear potential. Is that so crazy to think?
Respectively, the bullet holding devices are called magazines, whereas a clip is a thin piece of metal that holds bullets of which is stripped away when loading into a firearm. M1 Garands have clips. Either way, I love the video, haha
Why stun when I can kill? Why spend two mags and several seconds on a butt instead of one rocket to the head? Just because this gun can do something others can’t doesn’t mean that thing is worthwhile.
Keeping the horde back is very worthwhile and getting to freeze a charger in place can be very useful. I said very clearly it isn’t the quickest method but is still better than most primaries. You will not always have a rocket handy especially if you die so yes worthwhile
Consider the following: your teammate is running for the EAT on the ground with a charger on this tail and facing him. You can hold the charger with some pummeler fire while he scoops up the rocket and headshots it.
Guys yes, you can construct niche scenarios where this gun shines, I don’t disagree with you. But by and large you’ll have a much better time clearing higher difficulties with better primaries than this. I wouldn’t want to take this over a breaker incendiary, arc shotgun, jar etc..
it's just a test to show what it can and cannot do. If you have the rocket, sure, use that. But if you are stuck only with the primary, then it helps to know beforehand what you can do with it.
Hmm that would be interesting to see. I think if this were to work you would need a few bullets pumped in at a time to initiate the stun. A single bullet from pummeler doesn’t get them - they need multiple
It’s a primary not secondary but you can carry SMG’s one handed which means you can shoot them backwards like a sidearm. They are considered a light and quiet weapon, making them good at carrying the SSSD’s in missions and killing enemies who are alone or from behind without alerting others. It behaves as a sidearm. So carry both! Grenade pistol 🔫 is amazing.
Nice vid! But the question is why would you waste all these bullets and time on stagger, while other weapons can kill them at the same time, or even less, with less bullets. Trying to understand what's the point of this weapon. Especially on higher levels
My perspective is when you are facing off against the horde, even a more deadly primary is not going to handle everything at the same time. Likely will need a stratagem or something else to get the majority. The benefits of this are keeping them off you, giving you space and time to call down that support. But also generally things like brood commanders, bile spewers all being able to be stopped from their attacks with just a few bullets can be invaluable for survival.
@@DrPooplove Yes, for a full stratagem build it could work in that manner for sure. But as gun to purely kill, it struggles. I should try it more and maybe a different play style could make it more efficient.
I mean, the entire point of the weapon is being able to lock down targets with stagger and render them harmless. Of course you have to sacrifice a bit of damage and time to kill because being able to lock down stalkers, bile spewers, and even chargers is very powerful imo If you don’t understand why stagger is so good, you’ve either never used stun grenades before or you’ve never been staggered to death by hunters that keep interrupting your stims Using the Pummeler as a pure kill gun doesn’t make sense when that’s what the Defender was designed for. Pummeler sacrifices some lethality in exchange for making it way easier to survive enemy attacks by stunning them
@@colonelsouffle3042 I have used the gun quite a bit now. And in helldive difficulty I simply don't find any use for it. I don't really understand this game's tradeoff logic with with damage and stagger. I get that they want to keep things balanced... but a less damaging round is unlikely to have more stopping power. Doesn't really make sense. The pummeler still feels great, so it's kind of a nitpick, but I feel like damage and stagger should go hand in hand. The higher the damage, the greater the stopping power-that's how it should be, at least for single-projectile ballistic weapons (barring special effects like flaming or electric-shock bullets or something). Energy weapons, sure, make up whatever rules you want. But it just seems kinda silly to look at two SMGs and see one does more damage but with less stagger. Makes no sense. For balance, you can fuck with fire rate, capacity, handling, reload time, etc. But damage and stagger should generally go together for those weapons.
Not how it works. One of those 40mm rubber bullets would stagger a person more than a bullet that went in and through. Stagger isn't the same as damage. Not even in real life.
Don’t they make the rounds differently than lethal munitions? In real life I know they have rubber bullets etc but if they are then how do they penetrate and kill our enemies of democracy? 💯 honest question. I’m not a bullet expert.
