Del Monte sells diced potatoes
Thank you
I'm going to try this as I'm having a family BBQ next weekend.
I now use cubed potatoes and I pre-chill the can in the fridge. I rinse and pat dry. Made some yesterday and it was really good! Thanks and enjoy!
I made potato salad today using can potatoes. I drained potato rinsed with warm water
Add mayo, mustard, pickle relish, egg, diced onions, celery flakes
Sprinkle paprika on top 🤤💙
Sounds great! Thank you!
I’ve never thought of doing this but this is brilliant! I love potato salad but I’m so lazy to boil. Thank you for this!
You are so welcome! Enjoy! 🙂❤️👍
I just tried making potato salad using canned potatoes for the first time and it turned out pretty well. The main difference from what is shown here is that I used diced potatoes to save the chore of chopping them up. I put them in a colander, rinsed them and then let them drain during the time I cooked and peeled the eggs. It is good to know that this will work for a small batch of potato salad. Thank you.
I’ll have to give the diced potatoes a try. Thank you for your tips! Glad you enjoyed the video and enjoy your small batches of potato salad!🙂❤️👍
I work at Aldi, the first thing I noticed was our brands 😉. Thanks for the recipe!
Love Aldi! Thanks Rachel for watching and commenting!
Yay...its also cheaper then buying potatoes right now. It's just me at home now so this is good to know!
Glad to hear my video is helpful. Yes, potatoes are pricey. I stocked up. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂❤️👍
Awesome 👍
Thank you! 🙂❤️👍
This is so close to my recipe. The only other thing I use (and highly suggest) is a tablespoon or 2 (depending on how much I make) of CREAMY Italian dressing. I've never thought of using canned potatoes and I don't know why🤣🤯. Thank you so much! This is going to save me a lot of time😁
Thanks for the tip Aimee. I’ve also switched to canned, cubed potatoes now for this. They are slightly firmer. Thanks! 🙂❤️👍
I thought of using canned potatoes! I'm going to try this for 4th of July. Thanks
I’ve heard that the cubed potatoes are better than the little whole round potatoes. I bought some the other day but I haven’t tried them yet. Thanks for watching and commenting and happy early Fourth of July! 🙂❤️👍
I watched several of your videos today. May try one this weekend
Hi Nickie, thank you for watching my videos! As to this recipe, I have found that I like the cubed potatoes that I get from Walmart better than the whole potatoes that I dice up from ALDI but they don’t have the diced potatoes. Either way, it tastes great! I do recommend refrigerating for several hours before serving. Thank you so much and hope you subscribed, Vickie 🙂❤️👍
yes, I have done this for years. I love it. Plus, I've just recently used them for fried potatoes! YUM!!
I too use them for fried potatoes. Try them with green beans, smoked sausage and onion. Yum! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂❤️👍
@@ThriftyRecipes You're welcome! That sounds good!!! YUM!💞
Awesome thanks for sharing
You’re so welcome! Thank you Lori for watching and commenting! 🙂❤️👍
I bought the can for this, but didn't get around to doing it. I will be using your recipe. Btw, we keep boiled eggs on hand in the fridge for snacking, salads, egg-salad sandwiches, etc. I'm so glad I found your recipe here. Woo Hoo!
Wonderful! Be sure to drain the potatoes well and thoroughly pat dry. Thanks for watching and commenting!🙂❤️👍
Wow this is a great idea! I love canned potatoes, but I’ve only fried them before. Thanks for sharing. Happy 4th from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you! Happy 4th to you as well! We miss visiting our friends in Canada! 🙂❤️👍
@@ThriftyRecipes I am also a new subbie!
Thank you!
This is good but I use the diced potatoes in a can, lessons the cutting part and use pickle juice also.. thanks
I’ve never seen diced potatoes in a can. Thank you for that! 🙂❤️👍
Ok, fess up! where did you get the cool manual can opener? I need one of those!! Your Fault as my GF would say! lol.
I’ve had that for so many years (decades?) that I don’t remember. Sorry. 🙂❤️👍
Vidalia onions are good I live 45min from Vidalia georgia
Yes. My fav! Lucky you!🙂❤️👍
I use canned potatoes all the time. I cannot stand boiling potatoes that end up with a gritty texture. I use diced for potatoes soup. Haven’t done potato salad, but gonna try it! Thanks
For soup is a great idea! 🙂❤️👍
Speaking of other uses besides potato salad I used a half can of diced potatoes when I make chicken pot pie.
You forgot the diced dill pickle or the dill relish
Not really. Lol. I don’t care for pickles. So many ways to make it. Always good to put your own spin on it. Thanks Debbie!
Don't forget to RINSE OFF those canned potatoes after Draining them...Takes that 'canned taste' off of them.
I always rinse canned veggies. Thanks!
This right here is the reason why you can't eat anybody's potato salad
Have you ever looked at the “detailed” ingredients listed on potato salad found at your local grocery store or Walmart? LOL This has far less ingredients.
