I use my D13 with Spinfit tips and NiceHCK Blackjelly cable and a FIIO Q7 dac/amp with external FIIO power supply connected with a siver cabel and with good power cabel and an audioquest carbon USB cable. Sound is senstional good. Better than most of my 35 IEMs. Greetings from Germany, Thanks for your nice reviews ! :)
Akros a great microphone for you to buy to upgrade the vocal quality of your videos is the Rode NT-USB microphone; I have one and It sounds amazing for the price. Anyways keep up the great work.
Hey Tony.. This time unfortunatelly I totally desagreed with you. D13, S12 and Olina are trash and no other definition is more correct than that. We are not supposed to do mods after spending money and still 40 dollars more buys a Timeless which is a terrific set not needing mods. None of those are open back.
Hi Chris.....well if we all thought the same it be boring. Let me brake things down a little more without putting myself in a delicate position. Olina in stock format is nothing to brag about, however the driver is a good one and with the dual Olína damper or a Oxygen damper installed instead of the original, the Olina comes into its own, and I have to say I like it. I still will take the Aria over it....but that's me. The S12 I think suffers mainly from being too energetic , but good tip selection does calm it down. Once again max performance is obtained with a small mod. Yes the Timeless is perhaps more.balanced out the box. The P1Max is still my favourite. As for D13....well its got potential.....the driver is very good but should be used in a hybrid set up. As for the mods .....I get your point....not all are like me....I love DIY but not everyone is like me. Anyway the important thing is to enjoy whatever IEM you like.
Chris GAS...I sold timeless when i heard S12 and Olina....timeless is having zero depth sound coming from clear glass stage thats all only resolution and tuning....but S12 is monstor soundstage when i changed cable to penon pac480 it rounded things out and foam tips just sings on my mt604 it needs desktop power to shine...and Olina that DD timber cant beat.
Worse example you can give. For my volumes I have maybe 1% of iem that fits my volumes. Higher volumes encreases the upper mids and treble a lot . For every iem there is a perfect volume. On the d13 when I place at 20db per channel volume. Sounds perfect . At 80 dB sounds to harsh . So what I do. I modify all my iems. Why. Because they have a good driver and the price is great. All iems with one driver has a filter on the back side of the driver. The more the density of the filter the less bass it gives. In the nozzle is the treble and upper mids that works the less dumping the nore treble it gets. We talking about filters that cost 50 cents each or less so why not change the tuning in a already good driver. You saying that the s12 is crap and timeless is better made me laugh when all this companies buy the same driver from the same manufacturer. They look the same and they sound the same. What changes is the filter. That's all. So ear canal is different top. Some people can get 10 dB more in treble just by the shape of their hears. Then there is the volume we listen. That's why akros mentions about the mod. Hope you understand it. There is no much tecnológico expects in chifi apart from tuning . But rhe d13 has a good driver and a screw nozzle . Easy to place a high density sponge filter that sells in ali for 50 cents each Inside and now you have an iem that costs cheap and has a great tuning
Hey I'm late on the D13, but just bought it from letshouer store on AliExpress for $33. How the hell could a chifi addict pass that up haha. I've not got much experience with nozzle filters well no experience so was wondering what you'd recommend. The D13 should be here 2mor. How did the filter you use change the sound sig?
