I had one of these when I was 17 and rode it down to London from Edinburgh. Great old bike and commuted from Highgate into Westminster every day for 5 months. Never let me down. Rode it back to Edinburgh when my stint in London was over. Had an issue riding home as the exhaust blew out of the engine block. Luckily a police car stopped and the two cops helped me to basically tie it back in place with some wire. Got me home! :-)
Also a Pretty good looking Machine in an early Swinging Arm Frame. Not seen any of these in Sri Lanka though. Model 50 yes, have seen a 52 Plunger model some years ago. 👍
I had a 52 ES2 with side car it was very reliable i was also stupid enough to buy not one but two Norton Jubilee's however i did also have the very last of the 11 Manx Nortons from Nortons Show Room in 1963 non had motors they went to Cooper Racing cars so i stuck a 900 cc 8 valve Bonneville in it ,

Does anybody know the meaning of ES2? Were there ES 1s or 3s?
Enclosed Spring? 2 valves?
