- Shove introduces the thick set, because not two skaters are the same. The thick set appreciates that you have strong thunder thighs and buff calves that need a larger knee pad, but don’t need to up the size on the wrist or elbow

Now....if only Moxi had a helmet for the women with natural hair. PLEASE work on that next....if Moxi isn't already. I know a LOT of women who could use them! There are thousands going without a helmet because none fit them. :( I don't need them personally, I've got thin, stick straight hair, but it is being discussed in a LOT of the Facebook skate groups I'm involved with. Let's get these ladies and gentlemen some proper head gear!
I NEED this!!! Cause big hair don't care. When my hair is not in plates is makes my helmet feel like it's to small but its perfect for when my hair is plaited

If anyone is looking for a helmet, I use the S1 Lifer helmet and i'm a XXL (lol) because of my thick ass natural hair. but it fits well!

i was just talking to mu husband about this the other day! I love my hair but It gets in the way when i skate but I dont want to risk not wearing a helmit out in the city :)

For any of my other thick girls! I have a 23-24 inch knee circumference and bought the moxi XL pads and they fit (tight, but they fit). Avoid putting your leg through the actual fabric (it won’t fit us, ladies), but instead just use the straps to wrap it around your knee! I learned it from QueerGirlStraightSkates and it’s what works best. Yes, it’s tight but with every store sold out of any bigger sizes, these have worked great 🤯

I wish we could mix and match. I have the large knee pads, but I’m definitely a medium for the wrists and elbow pads.
I’ve lost 100 pounds and I still almost don’t fit in the L/XL. It’s awesome that these were made!

This is great but I wish that some time in the future they’re offered single instead of packs, because I don’t fit into the l/xl knee pad because it’s too small, but my wrists are small and my arms are medium or large.

Thank you SO MUCH for doing this. I did derby in California in 2011-2012 and it was IMPOSSIBLE for a fat girl to find cute anything in the skating world. It’s been 10 years and 2 babies later and I’m ready to skate for fun again and I’m shocked at how much more inclusive the skate world is now 💕💕💕 so much of that is due to you Shove and Estro! U guys rule 🤪

I know right! I got new knee pads that fit the twiggy bottom of my legs but they cut off the circulation of the top of my leg which is not twiggy. 😂

Just wanted to put in my 2 cents about the Thick set sizing, and how it is currently only coming in the 6-pack of protective gear. I didn't think I could get the Thick pack because my wrist and arm measurements were showing that I should be in the smaller sizes (S for wrist, L for arm, I think?) So I was determined the 6-pack wouldn't work for me and ended up buying other brands in piecemeal. THEY ALL GOT RETURNED. Everything was terrible and ill-fitting. I ended up buying the Shove & Moxi's Thick set and I am so glad I did!! Everything is SO comfortable and really nice quality. I was most worried about the wrist guards, I thought they'd be way too big. They're not! They're WONDERFUL! Everything is so adjustable and comfy. (Also very cute, which feels impossible in any other brand that will actually fit me, so this is a really lovely bonus.) I'm way more confident learning to skate because of all the protective gear, too. (I was one of those that was like...do I REALLY need elbow pads? Do I REALLY need a helmet? Yes and yes.)

I just bought the new thick girl xxl size in lavender and the moxi skate tool. I also just got the watermelon ( pink/green) beach bunnies from rollerskate nation everything comes next week. I bought the holographic impalas 5 days ago then I saw all the videos about the people of color not being payed and the bad reviews of them coming apart... still thinking about canceling the impalas idk since they said 3 weeks before I get them . I love you!!!!!
Yesss! I have thunder thighs compared to my wrists and arms. Even buying separate knee pads is damn near impossible. I’m a 21” thigh and I just find most so uncomfortable. I can’t imagine if my thighs were any bigger.

You know, it's a pretty good idea, actually! Honestly, I'd be happy if there was a set for smaller sizes with thick calves/thighs! Because it's not such a rare case where you wear, S-size for wrist guards and elbow pads, but your legs definitely demand some More or even L sized knee pads...
Or you can follow the good swimsuit tradition where you can pick different sizes for different parts of the set...
Sooo true, i don’t understand why companies won’t let us pick different sizes for things. Considering that it’s such a good idea. Like for examples mom has small wrists, medium elbows but needs large knee pads. So picking a choosing would be a great option to add in the future.

YESSS! Finally! I have a pair of Smith Scabs in the largest size, but the velcro always loosens up when I bend my knees. It's happened that I fell and my knee pad had shifted and it hurt. :'( So yeah, I'm so happy with this!
Oh nooo I'm so sad I didn't know about these until now! They're sold out :( I'm so glad your story made a difference though and that moxi started making the thick set. I know for myself that not having properly fitting gear has slowed down my learning as someone who just started skating.

If your a woman’s shoe size 11, you are a Moxi 10. If you are an 11 skate size then they have your size in black and in Jack boots
