Tharbamar, you knocked it out of the park! Excellent advice, plain and simple. One of my favorite speakers is the Sony SCSS5, and I'm willing to bet that in a blind test, it would hold it's own with the three excellent speakers in your video. For the price, they are amazing. Anyway, keep up the good work!
It's all personal taste. Those with limited budget are going to love this video. By the way I agree in your statement know the sound signiture that floats your boat. Most important, then comes budget. How much your comfortable spending. Good job.
I have to agree. I actually tried the LS50 with a 10 watt class A amp but which had a considerable power supply. Clearly it didnt go very loud but it was loud enough for normal listening. Normally I just use a NAD 326BEE which is a really cheap amp but also has a great power supply built in. My oldest son commented when we were listening that the saxophone seemed to be in the room. Great sound for the money.
I have Elac debut B6 2.0 and LS50. If you aren't totally happy with the Elacs, the LS50 will likely satisfy you. I liked the Elac but was never completely happy with them. The LS50 don't blow the Elacs away, they add just enough. I actually love them and they are the lowest cost component of my system. If you shop around, you can find these at a low price brand new. I paid 899 Cdn in May/2019 which is an awesome deal.
Under $1000 monitors are crazy rediculously good these days...this is the Golden era of budget bookshelves....R&D and trickle down technology is off the charts...
Good video. The challenge when auditioning for most is a store room. Because it’s not their room depending on the person’s situation it may not produce what is heard during store room audition
I have the Bowers and Wilkins 606. He's right, they are the ticket when you consider price vs performance. I auditioned the following speakers before arriving at the 606's: Wharfdale Diamond 11 Whardale Diamond 225 Martion Logan Motion 15 (Great speakers. Actually kept these thinking I was done, but later decided the 5.25" midrange could not fill the room at higher volumes) Klipsch RP600M Bowers and Wilkins 706 S2 (I was not super impressed with these given the $2k price tag. They were an open box item so I may have had a dud pair). All were powered by a Cambridge Audio CXA80.
I think 2 grand is the limit to what you are going to hear as far as sound quality for most people. Anything above that price range is subjective because of your room. The next level would be between 2-5 grand. Then your looking at quality of parts, crossovers, box design, what the box is made out of and equipment.

Hello, after hearing your comparison between PSB P5 and B&W 607, I liked the last ones better. In my country then the B&W cost like the PSB and so with just over 550 euros I preferred to buy the B&W 606. Wow! That's exactly what I was looking for, even when combined with a simple Onkyo 9010 they sound really good to me. Very good dynamic and balance sound, well defined and crystalline highs, excellent mid and very present bass but always controlled and never intrusive. Before I had Wharfedale 225, good speaker but I wasn't satisfied with high, mid and not so dynamic. The B&W 606 for me are absolutely another planet, they always sound very good with any musical genre I have tried (jazz, rock, electro, pop, classical, etc.) Also with movie they are awesome. 5 stars! Thank you Tharbamar for you reviews and thank you for letting me know these fantastic B&W models at an affordable price.
Great choice, 600 series cabinet quality is almost as good as 700 series. Yes they do sound great! Base on my experience they’re as good as or better than other speakers in $1k range with similar size, enjoy!

How are the Jb L 530 compared to those 3 speakers? The JOb 530 r $300/pairs at Jb L webaite. Music reference is vocal and instrument, esp the guitar and female vocal.
Thank you. I got the 530 for 2 weeks. They provide big sound stage. They sound like live music. However, with loud vo!ume, they sound bright to me. I wonder if it is because of my room or my amp. Btw, I drive them by OPPO 205 directly feeds the NuForce S200, that is speced 80w for 8 ohm. Thanks.
Thats how they're going to be at high volume levels as stated in my review video but higher gain nature of STA200 can amplify more noise levels at higher volume as well which is not helping much.
Thank you for ur explanation. Like in ur review, the 530 bass is not quite punchy and clean (it goes lower than expected for a 5 inch woofer, but seems not quite good to my taste). So do u think the 580, hopefully sounds like 590, easier to drive, and better bass ( clean, fast, tight pass, not need to go low but good quality)? Or keep 530 and get a good sub is a better solution than getting the 580 ($600 pair). Many thanks.
@@stevenoconnor5693 Aesthetics are NOT secondary simply because I can buy speakers in the same category that sound just as good but are not as cheap/ugly looking. You can buy a $600 pair of good sounding ugly speakers or a $600 pair of good sounding speakers -- the choice is yours.

If you can get 530 go for it, that’s one of very good sounding mini monitor speakers. It will sound great with your music.
How r the jbl 580_compared to the B&W? The jbl r $600 pairs. Music preference is female vocal, instrumental, acoustic or rock ballads. Thanks.
I think he likes the 607, more than the 606
Thx for the video -- keep 'em coming. God damn those B&W speakers are ugly. Life's too short to own ugly speakers.
They are actually good looking though. But to each his own ;)
@@nivity They look like Radio Shack floor specials.
motorambler they look nice but in the end it’s a matter of what you get back from the speaker in sound. Aesthetics is secondary
Some speakers look quite different when you see them in person, some don't photograph very well.
Ls50 is thicc
Are you a Burmese?
Yes.
That what I thinking too. Nice he got accents .
Great, its really good to see a Myanmar Audiophile. I always watch your videos and i could catch a small accent. Keep doing bro, your reviews and advice are pretty straight forward and very helpful.
BTW, I own Elac UB5, Pioneer BS22 and FS52. And a bunch of Japanese used amps. I am looking forward to get B&W 607 or Klispch RP600M but that's still too expensive for me.
Thank you.
ONE DOUBT THARBAMAR ONE FAVOR I ALREADY HAVE THE LS50 BUT IM THINKING IN CHANGING FOR THE PSB P5 ALPHA DO YOU THINK THAT THE DIFFERENCE OF SOUND IS VERY HIGH?
You may not be as happy as with LS50 in the long run, P5 is very good speakers for the price but if you get into critical listening you will notice the difference, thanks
@@Tharbamar THANKS A LOT FOR THE RESPONSE
I don't understand, isn't it the listening comparison that decides the differences? Why does everyone love their own voice? Chattering always ruins a show.
KEF is not worth even half of its price.
Why say 50 hundred dollar? You can't say 5 thousand?
