I drive from Montreal Canada to Detroit Pontiac to see this show!! I Will always cherish this moment in my HEART and forever!! I remember Elvis splits his pants.
I hope this suit don't tear up baby, remember Elvis saying that at the Aloha from Hawaii concert 1973 lol
@@elvis616 and they always do 😂
Hey Leonardo, this was an amazing concert! Did you happen to take any pics or film anything from the show?
The greatest performer ever. You can tell by this recording he knew how to work a crowd
I was there too with my girlfriend. I was 18. Good memories. Will never forget the flashing cameras. A huge stadium. It was pressurized for the roof. Remember leaving and being pushed out the exit.
Elvis, was a hero to most. Elvis, was a hero to most.....
I was there and was sitting in a chair on the floor right by the stage it was a Wonderful New Years Eve. I got to visit Graceland in 1993.
pam thompson Visited Graceland???
U remember when he tore his jumpsuit and had to go backstage and change it during Polk salad Annie 😁
Best concert ever. My gf at the time. This was her Christmas present. We are no longer together but we will always share this night.
Want to know how powerful Elvis was? He could've probably attracted over 300,000 people for one concert had he done world tours. The whole world wanted to see this man, but couldn't unless they went to the US. They would make it the biggest event in the country, no matter what country it is.
I agree
Elvis' New Years Eve show 1975 at the Pontiac Silver dome Michigan it was a good time.
David Gides Me too. God rest Elvis and now the Superdome too!
I was there!!! The best christmas present I have EVER Gotten!!!!!!!
I was there oh what a night and a great way to ring in the New Year.Elvis was at his best and when he sang I hope these pants don't tear up baby guess what --they
did I don't think it was planned and I don't know if that ever happend again. It was the best concert of his I ever had seen and it was the longest night we left London Ontario early in the afternoon and got home early the next day Oh Elvis how I miss you RIP one of your best Canadian fans, will never forget you Love always Cathy
We were supposed to go but there was a terrible snow storm in goderich Ontario Canada and we could not get there. Always regret it. He was amazing.
I was at this concert......The tickets were a Christmas gift from my sister who went with me.....Unforgettable
Since it just turned 2020, I figured I would listen to a full elvis concert (since I havent really done so), and therefore chose this one. Im pretty sure im not gonna regret a thing. Happy new years everyone!
I was there and I was 36. It was his biggest audience ever it was the Pontiac stadium. I was born and raised in Detroit so I was right around there
I so remember this concert I got the tickets for Christmas, the dream of a life time to say the least!
I too got my ticket as a Christmas present. I was 8 years old, and I got to see the KING.
Hello. I also went to this concert. My husband gave me blue Swede shoes, a blue Swede coat and a gold wedding band. We fly from ottawa to Michigan. Love it. I was only 22.
It is now New Year's Eve 2022 going into 2023 and listening to this Elvis Presley New year's Eve concert from 1975 sure does bring back fond memories. And the concert holds up just as well today as it did then and that's because Elvis is endless and knows no time restrictions. Elvis is Evergreen, Everlasting.
My wife and I travelled from London, Ontario that afternoon. There was a bunch of us on that bus and it was a great night. We were told that Elvis had insisted that no ticket was to go above $15. He had so much concern that his fans could afford to get to see him. Not like the rip-off "artists" of today. I am so glad to have come across this recording. I recall him asking the fans if they would agree to staying longer into the New Yea. They went wild. And he did. The show rapped up at about 30 mins past midnight. My only disappointment was the fact that he had gained weight since the last time we saw him which was in Detroit during the summer of 1970 where he looked great.
$15 then is worth around $60 today ..
Ken McGowan Sze lot of artists today but u old
Ken, my parents bought 2 tickets to see him in Omaha for $10 a piece. They let my sister and I go, I was 12. Great memories.
I failed to mention the Omaha concert we saw was June 1974.
Great story 👍 thank you for sharing
I was there, even have the pictures of a white spot on them which of course was Elvis!!
And he was a true Patriot! God, please bring us more like him. 💕💗💕💖
Best Concert Ever!!! I was 17 and was their!!
I was there. The camera flashes were crazy.
I've got a single roll of Super8 film of this concert. (about 3 1/2 minutes) It would be cool to match up this audio with my (silent) film. It was an awesome concert, and an awesome experience for this 8 year old boy. Elvis was the King!
Chris Trupiano Please do It!!! 💕
I was there and he was awesome.
como você e sortuda!!!!!
So was I at the tender age of 12, he was my king then and still is today
+Tammy Wilcox very good, I'm too.
Awesome!!!!!
Me too! How do we get this CD?
I can only imagine what it must have been like seeing Elvis live, you can hear the excitement in the audience before he comes on, you people that had the privilege to see the king live must have some fantastic memories of the man, the world will never see anyone like him again, all I can say as a 50 year old man is thank you Elvis for the songs and that incredible voice, wherever you are I'm sure you, Charlie and JD are stood round a piano singing,RIP
Sarge8610 Seen Elvis live 2 times. 74. 75. You could feel him in the stadium. When he came on. All hell broke loose. Tens of thousands of flashbulbs popping. Magical
Fantastic show again from the king of music Elvis is still taking care of business
Paul James TCB Baby!!
I was at this concert, sitting around the 45 yard line. It was a huge event, & we were excited to see Elvis. During the very first song he did a deep knee bend & split the seem if his pants from front to back. Elvis laughed it off & did a couple songs then went down below to get them sewn up. What a memory!
Fantastic concert by the king
Love this. Everywhere I've read say that the show was a disaster, except financially, but he sounds on top of his game here
A friend of my Dad's went to this show. He got halfway there and realized his girlfriend had left the tickets at home. It was a 2 hour drive. So he had to drive an hour back to get the tickets and then drive all the way to Pontiac again. I believe this was the show Elvis split his pants.
Thanks for bringing back my memories of that event. I was lucky enough to have tickets ..... 3rd row back from the stage, right in the center. ... the Countdown at midnight brought back awesome memories and tears. .... Thanks Again.
I waz 16
great to hear this concert in good sound ELVIS was in top form that night long live the king of music
At yesterday's implosion of Pontiac's Silverdome, I distinctly recalled this night in time. Thank You Elvis wherever you are, whoever recorded and posted this and apologies to my date that who was completely ignored that whole evening. My fondest memory was of Elvis being so proud of this being the Largest group (35,000 people) he had ever preformed before and so humbled and embarrassed that he'd ripped out the seat of his jumpsuit! "Wouldn't you know it!"
Sunny Day There were over 60,000 people there.
See I'm not forgetful! He has lowered down.
Largest audience ever for Elvis and it was 60,000 people. Elvis made $800,000 ♥️
@@JulieSmith-oc3nw I really don't remember how many. Just remember Elvis saying it was the largest audience he'd ever performed in front of. I think I wrote 35,000 because that's the number of people they said the Silverdome held.
It's so sad that only audience recordings exist of his two spectacular New Year's Eve concerts from '75 and '76! Imagine that in good soundboard or even professional recording quality, that would be awesome.
The 76 to 77 show is quite good and luckily we have some watchable footage! But I agree would be nice to have even just a decent soundboard
mano em 76 tem vídeo meia boca, mas com áudio legal
esse de 75 ainda não achei, que pena
@@elianagalle4517 Col Dries Channel has pictures of this show!!!! 👍👍👍👍
Im from Michigan, damn i wish there was quality sound from this concert.
I WAS THERE
This is the best audio of this I've ever heard. I've tried listening to it many times, but was dismayed by the poor quality. This is leagues above what I'm used to. I'm going to listen to the whole thing. Thank you SO much for posting this historic moment.
Amazing concert. And I loved the stories about the concert at the very end. Funny stuff.
LOVE IT JUST LOVE IT........ALWAYS ELVIS
Sharron And I were there it was the best !
🎉 Hello , "🌠 Shootmyidea 🌠 " Thanks for sharing the greatest singner and performer of all Times 👑 Elvis Presley 👑 . You can ' t imagine how much Joy you bring in my heart 😍 . Sincerely , Carole 🤗🤟💝
Элвис Пресли. Всегда в форме. Всегда на высоте.
U can say that again lmao.
I was at this concert
Ruth Clapp Wow!!!
Great recording. Thank you, for posting this for us. I wasn't lucky enough to attend one of his concerts. A group of buses sponsored by Blue Bird Tours [did I recall the bus company correctly?] left for this concert, from London, Ontario, Canada. I know this because one of my good friends, Mr.Dragan Pavlov attended the concert. He explained to me when I pumped him with questions [in 1982] when we met. The bus driver made a pit stop at a liquor store. He brought on bottles of champagne for all the folks on the bus. They thanks the driver, and he offered the response, "...don't thank me, thanks goes to Elvis, and The Colonel; it was their idea. Dragan says before the concert festivities began, he was walking near the stage, and the engineers had setup a reel-to-reel. He asked them what the setup was for; they offered the reply - we are recording the concert tonight. I wonder if the sound board of this concert survived, and will be released one day? Dragan says being in the same building with all those fans was an amazing experience. Further more, Friends, if you ever have the chance, and can afford it, purchase a copy of the book, and CD published by Elvis sound engineer, Mr. Bruce Jackson of Australia. We lost Mr. Jackson a few years ago, but, his family gathered up all the letters, and memorbilia, Bruce sent home from each tour of Elvis's in the 1970s. The result is a fantastic "coffee table sized" book, and Bruce talks about the setup for Pontiac New Years Eve. I won't spoil his memoires. Thank you, Bruce, and Elvis. Rest in peace. Stay safe, Everyone. Thanks for reading my long post here.
just listened to this concert, fantastic, thanks for posting
trupnk Oh, yes! Fantastic ELVIS.

aqui de novo. adoro esse show. minha imaginação voa..essa voz...esse show foi emblemático , pois tudo foi diferente. o local a multidão que assistia as performances do REI, gostaria que alguém me falasse mais sobre isso.
Over 500,000 to see the king!
60,000
I'll keep that in mind Jared
50 ft in the air? Were you high. I saw at in the first ten rows and he was about ten feet above us.
AMEN
Elvis was in a very good shape and good spirit that night and his show was very great , you should watch this other new year show from december 1976 that was filmed : ua-cam.com/video/GP5CpJ2hGNs/v-deo.html
Lol ,Elvis tore his Jumpsuit during Polk salad Annie, had to go Change his outfit. 34:50.
The Silverdome is gone. It was imploded.
I'm reading all the comments. People say they were in the front row, and that tickets cost $11.00 apiece. BS. There was no front row. Elvis was on a stage 50 feet up in the air in the middle of the Silverdome. And all tickets for this show costs $15.00 apiece. Quit making shit up people. I know. I was at this show. I was there.
50 feet in the air? Not likely more like 15 or 20 feet. The two level stage was pretty weird but when he ripped his pants he was leaning over to touch some fans after the first 2 songs. Hardly likely if he was fifty feet off the floor. Also tickets were not all $15. They were $6.00 $10.00 $11.50 and $15.
he was NOT 50 feet in the air..hell he ripped his pants during Polk Salad Annie and walked off the "in the Round" stage" he didn't fly down.
Jared Howe you are full of BS. The stage was 14 feet high & i also was 3rd row seat7 & my dad was in seat 8. Tickets were sold at Montgomery Wards for your choice of $6, $10,
$11.50 or $15.
so Jared, I read your comments and I'm curious what part of the entourage you were in? You had a conversation and to hear them say those things? Ive never heard of Elvis ever saying this is BS im out of here (paraphrasing)
My parents were at this show and their memories like others on here are different than yours? Whether someone paid $11 or $15 does it really mean their lying? Maybe you just had to pay more so what? Try not being quite so critical.
There were several ticket prices, from $6.50 through to $15. From memory, $6.50, $10, $11.50 and $15.
I have my 2 tkt stubs.. 12 bucks and a 50 cent pontiac silverdome surcharge
Can't find any footage of this.
Col Dries channel has pictures of this show!!!!
I said see...
How did The Who manage to fit in 76,000 people while Elvis only managed 62,500?
The Col. decided to block off the top tier stating people would be too far up/away and wouldn't see anything. The only way around that would've been a few big screens, leading to it being professionally filmed. Elvis would have had no trouble filling the upper portion. There were many reasons/excuses (we all know how the col. worked....). Wans't meant to be.
@Koletti Pireaus Listen boy, don't assume you know me or what "I'm talking about." Shut up and move on.
How did you record this?
Why did they cut the part out where he talks about ripping his pants?
Where can I find this cd?
Please go to Amazon and have this book taken down
This guy should not be making a dollar per download on bullshit
Adam Kington He's not. He has to claim ownership of the material, which he doesn't have, in order to make money.
Does anyone remember all the balloons ?
Bad recording on the lp very hissy and muffled.80 thou crowd and the recording is naf
Just found this on. E bay , changing pants, lp new years. Eve 1975 also new years eve 76 two amazing shows ,
