One question I have - do you expect the high density E1.S and E1.L formats to take over from all the other types due to less rack space and power & cooling required? If so, what time frames do you envisage these becoming the norm?
E1.S and E1.L won't necessarily consume any less power for the same capacity as a U.2 drive, but they should allow you to fit more storage into the same physical space as they are higher density. There still are very few servers on the market supporting these new drive standards, however with AMD and Intel both due to release next-generation server CPUs in the next few months maybe we'll see more E1.S and E1.L servers. - JG
