You keep saying I appreciate you for watching my videos, I feel I am the one grateful for you to take the time to film this priceless videos for Us to watch, thank you for such detail and great quality and educational materials you had produced, this is time you had sacrificed from your family, please thank your family for support you in the making of this videos, stay safe and healthy and enjoy your family on this coming Christmas. God blesss you.
Some things I've learned from Chris so far: _ always look at the big picture _ always be thorough _ think about the next guy And last : OCD has some positives in our line of work 😋 Thank you Chris, man's da man , bruv ! 👍
Your system look so much fun to work on. Alot more room inside the condensing units than the UK. Wedon't have have electrical nuts in the UK as they were banned in the 60s or 70s. Seems to me like it would be good to bend them all to point upwards in the evap. This would encourage any moisture to run away from the termination inside. Great vids thanks for taking the time to make them.
Nice job on the wiring & good troubleshooting technique. Before subscribing, watching & learning from your excellent videos, I used to be the guy who replaced fuses & walked away if the unit held up & ran. Now I know better & break out my meter & perform checks for shorts & grounds as well as performing good visual inspections. We recently had a problem with a motor starter tripping out so I follow my supervisor up to the penthouse with my meter to do what I learned from your videos. My manager decides to take action into his own hands, flips the switch & sends a shower of sparks & a cloud of smoke in my face as well as catching the motor starter on fire. I was pissed off to say the least.
well to your last comment, I really appreciate all your videos, I have tried watching others, BUT, most I do not enjoy listening to, there is 1 other I person that I have seen thats pretty good, but I honestly like your way, & talking, its to me the best to learn from
This is such quality content. Other channels don’t go as far into depth as you do with explaining what’s going on. I have learned so much. Seriously a huge thank you.
Man that is some clean wiring. Sequence of operation has always helped me, if i don't know it i will be running circles trying to figure out the problem. If i know it i generally can hone in on a problem much faster.
I helped electrician in the mines hundreds of nights with 480 3-phase and you learn neatness is everything. There were three failures in the evap due to spaghetti, the past where someone brazed an elbow you discovered, the service call cause and the one that happened with you watching (lucky). I would have done what you did, reorganize the mess. In mines everything has packing glands and permissible (explosion-proof) boxes so space even more premium. In the same environment conduit is NOT a trusted ground (corrosion) and MUST have dedicated ground(s). I made a mental rule that forever forward the snaps get replaced. GREAT GREAT Work Chris.
Very wise to change all of the snap-disc switches inside coolers. Those things cause innumerable problems. Cheap enough to replace them all and save yourself repeat calls. That is, unless you're in the biz of nickel-diming customers with trip calls. Excellent work as usual.
Hey bro you are one of the best techs i know of. I appreciate you saying you replaced all limits and fuses when you change one. I do not think you should check for grounds using the beep sounds, only measured ohms. Please keep up the good work, thank you.
I will be going live on UA-cam this evening 5/20/19 @5:PM (pacific time) to discuss my most recent uploads and answer questions from emails and the chat, come on over and check it out if you can ua-cam.com/video/-4N3ueCvJOY/v-deo.html
Great walk thru! Thanks. We have a similar freezer unit that blows a single phase control fuse every year during our annual music fest. Have never found issue in the unit, but do notice lower than usual supply voltage in general throughout the property those two weekends.
Thanks for the really good tips. I been in HVAC industry for many years just started working on commercial refrigeration your videos are a very big help Thanks!! Bro .
I have no reason to watch any of these vids. Im in pc building, not hvac. idk why, but i find these videos quite entertaining! keep up the great work and content!
Those two things cross paths if you happen to have a phase change chiller on your PC, because that's nothing more than a small refrigeration setup designed to chill the CPU.
Thanks , I will be going live on UA-cam this evening 5/20/19 @5:PM (pacific time) to discuss my most recent uploads and answer questions from emails and the chat, come on over and check it out if you can ua-cam.com/video/-4N3ueCvJOY/v-deo.html
Excellent troubleshooting as I know I would have blown a second new fuse before thinking “hey dumbass check for stuff grounding out”. Excellent cleanup on the wiring, it is always nice to be able to see pathways in the wiring and not just the schematic.
I have a criticism ... Where were you 40 years ago ... Lol ... Your a great teacher Chris ... Your apprentices are lucky ... My instructors were A-holes ...

Thanks for the vids. I used your tips at work today. And found the broplem. :) Im really suprised by the tech You have there In USA. Looks kind'a old. Keep up the good work. My favourite channel by far. T.M FINLAND
I would have rewired the evaporator too, I don’t like it when I see rats nest wiring on equipment. Good call to change all of the switches and both fuses. Thanks Chris.

Great work as usual! I’d love to see you further improve your electrical ‘proving dead’ procedure by re-checking your meter on a known supply (proving unit or in the local disconnector) after testing for voltage. The risk is that the meter somehow fails on the first voltage test e.g. it blows internally and so shows zero on your tests. The only way to prove this is checking on a known live supply after testing the circuit to be worked upon. In England, it is not permitted to use a multimeter to prove dead.

Great video. Can you also include how to read the components. For example the fan delay switch show how to read the label and st what temp closes or opens. Thank you
I normally find the fan delay setting stamp on the switch. Ugly's is a great wiring book I used in college. It's printed and sold by Brown publishing. Amazon should also sale it. It will give you symbols of various switches and wiring layouts.
nice job troubleshooting as always and follow-up fix and nice job cleaning up birds nest of wiring in evap.-i'm gonna look for same issue next time i'm in evap.-gotta watch those heaters.........
3 Thumbs down? What? Why? Well, Chris, you have just created at least 23, 997 better techs today. The other 3 are probably not real techs. I just watched this in awe man. Step by step, so perfect. Your last few videos have been very detailed. I'm lovin it! Actually , my buddy was challenging me that you were not going to clean up that spaghetti. I bet that you will because I know your work and you did. I can count on you every time on that bet!! Nice to see you relax. hard workin men need to relax somewhere, why not on top of a freezer shelf!!!
Wow..This equipment is so old school, I have not seen those limit switches since the 80's .....you guys need to go digital on these rooms. I'm from the UK and all those exposed live terminals are a no no and are a major hazard, in fact all of the wiring on the cooler and condensing unit control panel is so hazardous our health and safety officer would have a field day. Safety first my friend 😜👍
Excellent video as always sir. When you bypass a component, "to get the customer up and going". Do you leave a message/tag with information? I've walked into several jobs with stuff bypassed, and it can be irritating with diagnosing the problem. You never know when you will be hit by a bus leaving a job or customer decided that your haircut was just wrong so they don't want you back😂. I sincerely appreciate your videos they are a great teaching tool👊
Did you fix that three conducter black insulted temp sensor line coming in into the bottom of the indoor unit? Thought I saw some bare wire before you cleaned it up. Great job and good find! Keep it up. Learning lots.
Chris, did you ever go back to replace that Receiver ? [ 11:59 ]There were three pressures control switches two on the compressor pipes and one on receiver which one is which and what do they do ? What does the R2 Relay and TD Marked Device do on this unit ? this will really help understand this unit. Thank you
As a software dev I got no idea about HVAC stuff, but honestly, I watch your videos just out of curiosity. What's gonna be the issue this time? Just like that.
great video! can you please give us more info on the system that you are working(ex: brand, models, yr made ect) ... i know you work with many different systems but i am not sure if they generally work the same way. thanks.

That OCD wiring job is why I watch your videos. A true master of your trade with obvious pride in your work. Never get tired of watching.

Brother that wire reorganization made my heart smile thank you so much for the lesson
Key words: SEQUENCE OF OPERATION & UNDERSTAND HOW TO READ SCHEMATICS . Good stuff ! 😎👍
Thanks for watching!
I’m slowly making my way through your back catalogue of videos. I love problem solving and your videos help me to unwind.
Some things I've learned from Chris so far:

Exactly
I wish I could apprentice under you, here in vegas ppl don’t wanna take the time to teach !! Good shit bro
Super clean on the wiring..just the way we like it! I always be throwin in mad ties and little plastic clips
Enjoying the videos from Liverpool uk . Going back into the world of refrigeration after a will so getting some inspiration thanks

It is usually the electricians wiring that I find shorted to the elements. Zip ties are cheap.
