Thanks to your effort for upload but I'm still puzzled about IQ of this lens. Could you please make a verbal comment? From your initial footage, I get the feeling that the lens is abnormally soft. I see a better sharpness in some of the later footage but not very satisfactory. So is it that on initial images you used a very narrow F and diffraction has ruined the sharpness or the lens is not that sharp. I'm in particular interested to know where does this well priced lens stands compare to other brands s.a. Laowa (may be their 25mm). Thanks,
I was actually always satisfied with the image quality of the Mitakom. But I mainly only used it for filming. In comparison videos, however, I have heard time and again that the Laowa 25mm should be sharper. I have now sold my 20mm Mitakon and switched to the Laowa 100mm 2:1. that is more practical for my purposes.
@@LindemannFilmFotoDrohne Thanks for the reply. I actually have Laowa 100mm but 2:1 is not enough for a few extreme cases and yes I know I could use a 2x converter with a few stop F loss but guess both of these can co-exist in as same bag! so I ordered my Mitakon 4x. Let's see how it goes and do you have any advice for me as to why I should not have this Mitakon and Laowa 100mm both, at the same time? Yes I know the sharpness and the nice working distance of Laowa is unique but what about that extreme of magnification this cheap Mitakon gives? Thanks anyways for the rapid reply.
@@LindemannFilmFotoDrohne The shop doesn't have it, they needed to order it from the manufacturer. It will take a while. For now I have to stay with my extension tubes and kit lens. But I really want to go extreme tiny! I love all those niche things in life, lol xD
Lenses with somewhat of a close focus capability have been marketed as ”macro" for decades, even with object-to-sensor ratios of less than 1:1 (say 1:3). Now, finally, this is what we get: Consumers criticising actual macro imagery (4.5:1 in this case). It's one more upside-down aspect of the photography business.
Amazing video...I got the same lens it is so underrated....Good Luck Buddy...
Thank you
The problem is that you can find much better solutions for macro. So very soon you will be very unhappy, and start to look for something better.
Excellent Footage. Im considering picking this lens up
nice footage 👌🏽 keep it up
Thank you.

Is this the Zhongyi Mitakon?
That's right.
is that how shallow the depth of field is, or did you apply any tilt shift in post?
Thats how shallow the depth of field looks. No effects in postprocessing.
@@LindemannFilmFotoDrohne that's incredible, thanks for the reply!

A weee bit too macro for me, but cheers to the great presentation!
there is no such thing as too much macro. Capiche?
