- My Time in Middle-Earth is a project I started long ago. It now consists of over 200+ songs, and is still growing. Songs are all made with FL Studio 5. They are more or less just ideas and inspirations put together to form simple drafts. All songs are about Middle-earth: events, adventures and contemplations.
Picture is from The Return of the King
Song about the showdown between Eowyn and the Witchking. Eowyn's search for dead and glory culminates at this moment. Fear has driven everyone else away from the dying king but Eowyn stay beside him no matter what comes to be. I didn't want to add lyrics/text to the video since there is just too much of it so I'll add it to the bottom of this bit so you can read it there at your own leasure.
It's ofcourse based in Tolkien's own depiction of the moment, I just made it look more like the way I write things.
This is now the second Eowyn song I made that at the very end felt displeased and decided to rewrite the whole thing in case you wondered why so long pause in releases...
From the Album: Horse and the Rider
Feedback on sound quality appreciated
I own all the rights for the music/lyrics (Story by J.R.R. Tolkien)
Text with timestamps:
Alone stood the maiden
beside her fallen king
Tears falling down
her windswept cheeks
Spot of sunlight
warming her skin
Moment most surreal
0:11
Silence and calm
Absence of time
Moment of respite
before the surge
into the trial
of the unknown
0:22
In the shadow of darkness
Merry closed his eyes
Eowyn stood defiant
Her faint voice was resolute
unyeilding...
0:33
Face the Deathbringer?
Bravest of men have already fled
Blinded by fear
Why not join them?
or die here...
0:44
My king lie here dying
It is my duty to guard him
You shall not have him!
Fiend of Sauron...
Others may fear death
but I welcome it!
Indeed, I came here to die
And yet as she spoke, she held her shield
more tightly to her chest
1:07
Firm hands and shining steel
Wind caught in her golden locks
Flickering in the sunlight like dancing fire
Doubtless in the moment of absolute terror
Witchking of Angmar
Mordor's finest
against Rohan's shield maiden
Daughter of Eomund
the one with the frozen heart
1:29
Held by Denethor's madness,
the White Rider was absent
at this pivotal moment
Destiny however... was not
Brought by desire to die,
Eowyn would now face the Nazgul lord
and perhaps her wish would be granted
Death and glory...
1:51
Feet firmly on the ground
Eowyn used her shield to hide
from the burning gaze of the Witchking
No training prepared her for this
This foe was beyond her skill
2:05
Cold steel
Black breath
Darkness
Towers over her small frame
2:21
In this fight
spirit shatters first
Darkness dominates the light
and still...
2:36
Light breaks free
from the shackless of clouds
to shine again
brightly from the open sky above this wartorn world
At this time
Our little soldier
from far distant land
Found his courage
tugged away within
his little heart
3:21
Fool!
No man can kill me
And all I see is a frail mortal standing before me
To these words Eowyn laughed
Frail I may be
and small in stature
but I am no man!
3:43
Eowyn threw off her helmet
and she let her hair fly free
Bright was the flame in her eyes
and upon her steel
Wraithking stood silent
doubting perhaps
before thrusting his great weapon forward
3:58
With such tremendous force
that Eowyn's shield shattered
and so did her arm
Her knees now hitting the ground
as the great shadow was looming over her
ready to claim another soul for the dark lord
4:12
End was near for the Rohirrim's bravest
But at the same time Merry crawled his way
ever closer to the monstrosity
Eowyn will not die today
Decisions they all made
would come to play here
4:28
The blade once forged
Somewhere in the north
Found it's way right here
and how eager it was
to dig deep into the invisible
flesh
holding this dark being
in the physical world
4:42
Agony halted the Witchking
Merry's tiny voice woke
stunned Eowyn back on her feet
Without hesitation
she pushed her blade
into the emptiness
off the helmet
Shriek exploded along
the battlefield
And the Witchking's
evil spirit died
and he was no more
