I think it would be more astonishing if you in fact did stand 3.5km + away and saw a faint light light up your building, or even to see it go 3.5km from the side
I was gutted the warehouse building had floodlights on it but you can see the MF04 faintly light the top portions of the warehouse. It gets hard to see if your lighting things up at around 1800m if you don't have binoculars! Dark objects like leaves have an even shorter visual range.

Happened to me once here in texas, they were cool once they realized what a flashoholic was. I have the Mateminco MT35 plus which is the same light. so far I've only got it to illuminate a white water tower at 1700 meters but it's so humid here, may be the reason.
@@joesalaman3503 I can't see it illuminating things further than that with my eyes, it was only when I edited the video and zoomed in I could see it casting faint light on buildings. I struggle to see it shining on trees from as little as 1000m away.
You must have a really good camera to get those zoom shots, but in a practical situation with a good pair of binoculars you should get similar results. Great video by the way.
what a strange combination of factors, a relatively low output in lumens yet a massive beam, I'm assuming it's down to the reflector particularly the depth of it
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV of you used Google maps it accounts for that distance already. Building height won't effect it unless you were very close and it was a tower or frequency antenna. (1000feet tall type stuff)

This is the farthest throwing production LED light. There are also several farther throwing aftermarket LED lights but this one is much, much cheaper and higher lumens.

Can anyone answer this question...I just purchased the Astrolux MF04s...and four NCR18650B batteries. when I turn on the flashlight and click my way upo to turbo mode, the light shuts itself off after about 10 seconds!! Does that sound like a problem with the flashlight or the batteries? I actually ordered the pink Samsung INR18650-30Q 3000mAH Unprotected Button Top Batteries but Banggood sent the NCR18650B instead.

@@swifty1321 MF04S is 3 times more powerful but shines 900m less. Basically it has a wider beam due to a bigger LED but the beam isn't as bright as it is as condensed. The Acebeam K75 is better, it has a similar output from a smaller LED and goes even further than the MF04!!

Kris Young Yeah I find CW is usually brighter an doesn't get as hot, many argue NW is better for seeing objects far off due to less light reflecting off the atmosphere.

@Thats SoGood it is brighter. Look into it at point blank range and let me know which one is "brighter" there are two measurements of brightness, lux, and lux@1meter, which is candela. Lumens doesn't measure brightness, 8t measures total illumination or cumulative brightness. Think of it like strength testing paracord, tensile strength is unusable, and working strength is. Candela matters, lumens kind of don't. Lumens okay do matter, but not very much. The 32k lumen acebeam x80gt is high enough in lumens to matter. But the new TK75 from fenix is less fun to use than the mfo4 despite having 5000 lumens

The mfo4 is 1400000 candela, the blf gt is 1230000 candela, that's an existant but very small difference. The bigger difference is the blf suffered from severe underpriced production, such crappy under pricing it is not considered a production light and is not a contender for a far throwing LED flashl.
@@LumenChaser besides, the mfo4 is a total copy cat of the blf gt, and has a ridiculous way of carrying the light. They should have a gun-shaped handle, for normal spotlight carrying, the new light is so unoriginal I won't be surprised if lumentop sues them. Waiting for a more intense LED with a deeper reflector and handle-carry from the bottom of the light. Also you should not shine the light at a van like you did about 1/4 of the way in. In most places and countries it is illegal but regardless is rude, even for a split moment.

I just want to ask if you considered calculating distance based off the fact that you have a change in elevation from light to reference?
Justin Clemons good point, that hospital is a great deal higher than were I filmed from, probably add 100m at least.

Low amperage diacharge bateries. You should buy samsung 30q or sony vtcc6
How is this compared to MF04. i am torn between mf04 and mf02s v2. Any advice?
MF04 is the one to get if you want long runtimes. The SBT90 flashlights get hot and drain cells quick

I can't even look at my MF02 after using the MF04! The Camera is a Sony A6300 but I believe the A6500 is far better.
I got the BLF GT and was very impressed by it. Now I’m waiting for the XHP70 conversion kit. That’s gonna be awesome.

Easily!!!! My Italia Cometa touches clouds and it's no where near as powerful. The MF04 can shine over 10,000 feet!

The MF04 destroys all other throwers. The TN42 will have a wider beam though so maybe more useful at shorter range.
