Nice video, actually gets right to the technique verses talking about the most random useless stuff like most other videos do. Glad to see some straight forward instruction that gets right to the technique. Thanks

After watching this video in the morning I tried out the submission in practice and it worked like a treat, saves me the hassle of trying to bring my leg over for the bow and arrow choke, thanks.

You are correct in your statements , only one thing jiu jitsu was the japans samoray way of fighting, They teached it first to Brazilians then the Brazilians developed the Bjj.

+LinearAlgebra the choke restricts the blood flow on one side of the neck (:

Basically a bow and arrow. You can just do a slide choke as well but on the other side.

Be careful with this choke, it seems kind of dangerous if you really have it sunk in deep. I hurt my neck pretty bad practicing this one in class.

Sounds like you've never been in a fight to me.
I have worked as a Door Supervisor/Bouncer/Doorman whatever you want to label it these days for two years and almost every altercation i have ever dealt with has involved some sort of grab or wrestle by the aggressor.
Not everyone can strike efficiently and effectively. Some people have thin bone density, the chances of being hurt increase greatly when you only try to strike an opponent. You also forget BJJ isn't just GROUNDWORK.

All martial arts have their positives and negatives.
The people who bitch about a MA being elite and another ineffective is an absolute tool.
You dont have to be elite at everything, just like martial art.. if a specific martial art covered absolutely everything UA-cam shit talkers think you need then no one would ever get anywhere. Specialize then expand. get your technique down then learn more... this would be close to impossible in a martial art perspective.
