As a high schooler, it’s so cool to see people at similar ages sharing their insights!

Quite talented! The only instrument that I am somewhat decent in is the piano. I have always wanted to learn the violin! Who truly inspired me have hopes for playing the violin was Alexander Markov. His interpretation of Caprice No. 24 was brilliant! This was a great video. Hope you all have a fantastic day.

Minute 7:00 "Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum" is the name of Debussy's "Children's Corner" first piece. This and the fourth, "Dancing Snowflakes" are the two technically challenging pieces of the suite :)

This chat was interesting for me as I follow chiefly young artists (some of them even still students) on social media: Classical music is constantly evolving, and young people have the new ideas and initiatives! Thanks Eva. I bookmarked your blog website and subscribed to the newsletter, although I am not a young musician (age wise).
Oh, and I agree 100% with your p.o.v.regarding (music) competitions!

Hi Eva, So cool that you play both piano *and* violin! Have you seen the UA-cam video in which Julia Fischer plays compositions on both instruments in the same program? I admire and respect the discipline and talent that both you and Julia have. Best wishes to you wherever your path of life may run.

Thank you! Yes, Julia Fischer is a great inspiration and I admire her musical stamina to be able to play major works on each instrument all in one concert. It is quite interesting to see how her violin playing informs her piano playing and vice versa. I believe that Julia Fischer considers violin to be her primary instrument and piano to be her secondary instrument, while I am swapped in that I spend most of my practice time with the piano. One of my goals for this year, my senior year in high school, is to put on a live solo recital in which I play both instruments!

@@evasharman8733 Hi Eva, I too think of Julia as a violinist first; it is how she came to my attention. As for yourself, you are clearly a very serious, thoughtful person and I am sure you will do well in whatever it is you set your mind to.

@@ilovepiano5047 I particularly enjoy this recording of the trio with Babadjanian himself on the piano, along with Oistrakh and Knushevitsky! ua-cam.com/video/5LW0ItZQbg8/v-deo.html Thanks for listening 😊
