I believe that the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphs were interested in scholars and supported them. In the Ottoman Empire, illiteracy spread among the Arab world as a result of the Ottomans neglecting education for the Arabs.
Perhaps they had the goal of making the Arabs ignorant in order to dominate them and keep them subordinate to them
There were movements of Arab intellectuals in the Levant against the policies of the Ottomans and the increase in illiteracy among the Arabs before the Great Arab Revolt took place by Sharif Al-Hussein.
If the Arabs were subservient to the Turks, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar would not have advanced as is happening now
I believe that if the Arabs were able to unite and support scientific research, they would be able to create a civilized renaissance for the Arab Muslims
Turkey can also talk about linking the Turkish states to each other and establishing a Turkish-Muslim civilization instead of trying to impose its policy on the Arabs, and the Arabs do not tolerate them and do not like the history of the Ottomans.

Interesting, but some things I do not quite agree with. Ibn Taymiyyah's position of trying to "marry" the natural science & philosophy with religious sciences led him to come up with very confused ideas! His assumption that because things mentioned in the Quran -depending on interpretations- must be literally believed and that this interpretation not be questioned ever, is not just unreasonable it is quite silly if not dangerous. Same can be said of Ghazali. Both were driven by religio-political motives to come up with ideas that ring hollow! Ghazali, for example, critiqued al-Farabi and Ibn Sina for accepting the eternity of the cosmos or questioning the idea of a soul's resurrection etc. etc.
Modern science still has an issue with the creation of the universe at a particular point in time. Why? Many cosmologists now talk about the eternity of the cosmos, meaning the possibility of a multiverse which is eternal!
Similarly, the idea of God and its abstraction very early in Islam, including all the way back to he Quran itself - depending on ones interpretation. Ibn Taymiyyah spectacularly fails here. Also, both fail on the issues of causality, with Ghazali saying - to elaborate on the fire & cotton example - that the source of fire is NOT the cause of the cotton burning, but it's all due to God! It is He who makes the cotton to burn. Hardly an explanation since god can be cited as the cause of everything, even opposites! There are other examples one can get into, but the point has been made.
Using rational arguments are no the sole prerogative of the West, many in he Islamic world also came up very rational arguments. But both in the East and the West people also came up with totally irrational arguments. For us, it has to be people like Ibn Taymiyyah, whether we like it or not.

A Muslim believes 100% that the Qur’an is the word of the Creator and Muslims believe in the interpretation of the Qur’an from the Prophet Muhammad pbuh and his companions who understood the religion from the Prophet Muhammad pbuh
So what is the contradiction between the Qur’an and the natural sciences? Of course, we believe that the truth is with the Qur’an
If you read in ancient history, you will find many sciences that contradicted the Holy Qur’an, but after the sciences developed, they agreed with the Qur’an
We believe that the human mind develops and advances, but never reaches the knowledge of the Creator
Ibn Taymiyyah is the greatest of the Muslim philosophers. This is what the specialists in the science of philosophy say. He criticized Aristotle and the Greek philosophers in matters related to their contradictions in what we believe as Muslims, etc..
Ibn Taymiyyah is one of the few Muslim scholars who cannot be repeated in religious and scientific history, and his library is filled with many sciences that we are still learning from.
