Only MissouriQuiltCo could make quilting a family affair. I really loved seeing Natalie - This is my first time seeing her in a video (She really looks as lovely as her mom.) I can't wait to take my shears to my husband's many T-Shirts. : )
Natalie you rock girlfriend!!! I am new to quilting thanks to your Mom's videos. A close friend just lost her husband June 2017. She has asked me to make a couple of lap sized t-shirt quilts from his T-shirts. I was not sure I wanted to do that as I am afraid I would ruin them. But after watching your video, I feel more confident that I can do this. Thank you Natalie and your AWESOME Mom for educating me. Oh and PS I LOVE THE PINEAPPLE QUILT VIDEO cant wait to try that one. Thanks again Lisa
Thanks, Natalie. I made a t-shirt for my d-i-l, Natalie for her birthday last summer. Wish I had seen your quilt before I made hers. Plan to start one for my son, soon for his Nov. birthday.
I have to say this tutorial inspired me to go ahead with a T-Shirt quilt using both my grandsons favorite baby clothes. for my daughter and her husband. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be. Thanks Natalie !!!
Very clear instruction. I'm totally hooked on watching your videos. It's keeping me from getting any sewing done!!!! I'm deciding "what the hey! May as well watch them all and get it done!"
This tutorial is awesome! I could not help but notice that your sister and I have run many of the same races, Bridge to Bridge, Liberty State Park run, etc. The tutorial was very easy to follow. Thanks again!
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial, I have been wanting to make one using my sons t-shirts,he passed away three years ago , and i saved his tshirts to make a memory quilt from all the concerts and things he liked on his shirts.
The Missouri Star Quilt Co. tutorials are the BEST. Thanks, Natalie, for walking me through this. I've made several quilts, using different skills, but I've been reluctant to take on a t-shirt quilt. Now, I'm ready! In fact, I think I'll start today. Thanks!
you had great t-shirts t work with, color and design-wise. The orange and blue tones that you chose worked beautifully, this quilt is gorgeous! Thanks for doing a really great job demonstrating the process! Keep making videos for us!
TOTALLY AWESOME...I have the most massive Tshirt Quilt project in my head, and have been searching all over the interwebs, stalking your site, watching ALL of your vids to see if there was anything, and BAM here you are in my Sub box, telling me exactly what I needed to know...THANK YOUUUUUU
Natalie - you did an absolutely awesome job - the apple does not fall far from the tree. be confident - you ARE very good !! I had no idea what was involved in making a T-shirt quilt. I am very much informed now and looking forward to getting more t-shirts together to make one - thank you sew much !!
Thank you Missouri Star Quilt for great videos! I found this video 4 years ago. Our daughter had all shirts from 3 years old to 23! Step by step instructions are great. That was the start of many , many quilts!
My brother and his wife traveled a lot and collected "Hard Rock" t-shirts. After his wife passed he asked me if I would make a quilt out of them. He also wanted it to be reversible, so that was a challenge but turned out well. Then I had it quilted and he was more then pleased with it. I do not like to make money from my family so I donated the money left over after expenses to my church food pantry. So it was a win/win situation. I love watching your videos and am amazed at how easy you make the projects.
This is a great idea. I am no great seamstress but I have a lot of T-shirts tñat I would like to keep and this is a wonderful way to keep loved items forever! Thanks again.
Super job!!! Natalie, i wish i'd seen this one, before i made my GS his high school memory quilt... it was way before i actually knew what i was doing and before MSQC was here to help guide me... mine was bumpy and irregular, but it brought tears to his eyes!!! Now i can make them "neatly" for others... thanks so much..
Thanks for sharing, made my confidence level go UP! I have a bunch of LSU T Shirts from my daughter who just got married and would make a lovely keepsake! Really appreciate you sharing your gift!!
That looks like my sweet little machine I bought for $99 at Walmart and left in my closet for severals (and moves). It now goes for $229 on Amazon. I love it. Great for getting me back into sewing! I last sewed when I was about 14 and am now 63!!! Having the time of my life.
I have been wanting to learn to make quits for a long time. I have easily 50 tees that I just can't get rid of, most of which have shrunk while they were in the closet. I still have the blankets my mother made for me over 40 years, and I'd like to do the same for my daughters and grand daughters. Everyone loves a good blanket! I'm in!
A friend just asked me tonight if I would make her a T-Shirt quilt from her high school band and concert T-Shirts. What a relief to find this tutorial.
I've seen other t-shirt quilt tutorials - this is the one I've been looking for! I've never made a quilt before, and this video just made perfect sense, and broke it down perfectly. Thank you!!! :)
I have several t-shirt quilt books, but this has been the absolute most helpful of them all! I'm very visual and need to see the entire process. Thanks for this video - keep 'em comin'! Off to pin this!
Fun! I have a stockpile of t shirts my husband felt too attached to to be able to donate them but he has way too many to wear. I saved them to make a t shirt quilt and now I will know how! Thanks!
Great tutorial, Natalie! Now I want to make a t-shirt quilt for someone... *lol* I like the two different colors on your sister's quilt and love the way you did your son's quilt....
Thank you so much. Great tutorial. I have collected t-shirts from my sister in law who has recently passed away from cancer. There are shirts that are specific to each of her 3 children so I'm going to make them each a quilt as a memorial and keepsake from something personal of their mom's.
Apparently I am not alone! This is a fantastic way to keep our Loved Ones memory alive & a great Tribute to their life! I love this idea! I hope you'll post a picture of your quilt when your done.
I love Missouri Star Quilt Co. tutorials! Natalie ... you are almost as good as your Mom!! This is a very very good tutorial on how to do these! Thanks so much!
My son's girlfriend wants a t-shirt quilt. I do a lot of sewing, but, wasn't altogether sure of how to do this. Now I am. Thanks for such clear instructions.
Hi Natalie -- Thanks so much for your tut on making a t-shirt quilt. I followed your directions and made a quilt for a friend's son who was leaving for college. It turned out to be almost a queen size quilt. There were a total of 20 t-shirts that I sashed and put cornerstones on the corners. Each square was quilted differently then made a tie in the center of each cornerstone. He liked it a lot and said it keeps him toasty warm in the cold dorm room.
Omg I can NOT be hank you enough for this tutorial for a t-shirt quilt!!! I'm in love he process of making one for a family member and had yet to come across a simple tutorial that I could understand!! Love love what ya'll are doing down at The Missouri Star Quilting Company! Thanks again!!
Thank you so much - great tutorial! I can't wait to get started on this quilt using our two daughter's t-shirts they earned playing in tennis tournaments all through high school and college. What wonderful memories. Now our grandkids are following in their footsteps. Have a great day!
Natalie, thanks so much for a great tutorial! You make it so easy because you explain it so well. Thank you for telling me about how to make one big square out of little pocket squares. Thanks to your video I made a quilt from my son's Boy Scout t-shirts as a reward for earning his Eagle Badge. I showed it to Troop 1 in Jackson, MS and they were very excited about it also. Troop 337 here in Pinellas Park, Florida had never seen one and they were really interested in making them now too. Now I'm making the backing and sending it to ya'll for quilting. I hope you get to see it. :) Remember it's my first quilt so be kind. :)
Fabulous tutorial....I've made a few adult t-shirt quilts and a few t-shirt quilts using baby onesies. They've all turned out nice pretty but this tutorial taught me how to create more efficiently. Your quilts are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your ideas and 'know-how'.
It is such a cool idea, and you make it look so easy - I can definitely see your Mums passion and enthusiasm for quilting in you !! such a stunning effect on your quilts XX
I've come here from the "forum"... Natalie.. i work the same way! "Taking those short cuts makes it so much more fun"! Hope lots of people find this and give it a try.. I've made so many "memory" quilts for people and may i say there is NOTHING nicer than the feeling you get when you present someone with such a meaningful piece of creativity:)) GB
Love Missiour Star quilt. Thanks Natalie for the tutorial on t-shirt quilts. I'm making one out of my Mom's clothes and she had a lot of t-shirts and sweat shirts. This makes it look more like and easier project then I thought it would be.

I agree with you, these tutorials on you tube are the bomb, they give me the incentive to get off my bottom and start sewing. I do so much better with a video than a book or magazine pattern.
I have made several T-shirt quilts and one of the things I have done with the smaller logo squares is to make a wider outer border and incorporated them as cornerstones. I have also used long narrow logos in the borders by piecing them in at various places. These things help to make the quilt more fun!!!
Wow, thank you so much for giving me the confidence to go ahead and make a tee shirt quilt for my granddaughter. I have had the shirts for months and now will start it.
I was given a box and a large sack of my daughter-in-law's tee shirts to make into two legacy quilts for her son 5 yr, and daughter 3yr. She is a marathon runner and played soccer in her youth throughout school and in college and on community teams. She is battling Neuro Endocrine Tumors aks: NETs. This tutorial was very helpful. I will be backing each of these twin bedsize quilts w/ soft Minke and use wool batting as they live where it can get very cold during winter.
Natalie Thank You so much for this tutorial!! I have piles of Tees from when my girls were in High School and College and have been so afraid to try! Your step by step really reassured me that I can so it!!! You and your Mom are amazing and I Had the time of my life when I visited Hamilton a couple months ago!!!
